Question. Twomey's phantom drafts tend to be at least 90% right around the top 10. But does he ever factor in possible trades or does he take the draft at who currently has the pick?

He doesn't usually factor in live trades as it gets too messy (it also gives him a get out of jail free card for being wrong if the pick is traded).

I suspect this year might be the first time he actually locks one in as a prediction though

I guess Armstrong, Allan or Reid? Seems unlikely. Just dreaming tbh.

It will be interesting how we go in that situation. Midfield spots are going to get much tighter from next year. Macnuggets, Phillipou, Steele, Windhager, Dow, Jones, Clark and a new draftee plus the others that can roll through like Garcia. Probably ideally only play two that are specialist inside mids and the rest adaptable or rotations off the bench.

I can see us taking one mid and either a dual position type or a tall.

That article suggest Peckett to be taken as a Cat B Rookie, he doesnt qualify for that does he?

"Father-son Elwood Peckett will likely find his way to the Saints as a category-B rookie".

Peckett said his wife was Danish I remember. I guess that's Elwood's mum, maybe he can come in on that like a next gen kid?

Pedantic (and possibly wrong) but I don't think you can Cat B list undrafted F/S prospects, only NGA? And we are already at the max quota of 2 with McLennan and O'Connell. Plenty of Cat A spots so not an issue in any case.

He also thinks GWS, with a list that already has too many quality small forwards to fit into a best 22, will take Hannaford. Surely not. Can't read much into anything he writes.
According to the AFL site you're right, that may not be up to date as it mentions 3 Cat B spots

In his media intereviews he comes across very young and not as mature as some of the others. Kids develop and mature at different rates I would take him on his footballing acumen alone.
I like the Langford (plus a few others) for that reason - leadership, which we’ve been crying out for a decade. Hope the second pick also has those traits.

1. Lalor (RICH)
2. Jagga (ADEL)
3. Draper (CARL)
4. Tauru (NORF)
5. FOS (MELB)
6. Smillie (RICH)
7. Langford (STK)

3-way live trade:
Giants: 15, 16, 37 for 8, 29
Power: 13, 29 for 15, 32, 37
STK: 8, 32 for 13, 16

8. Travaglia (GWS)
9. Reid (MELB)
10. Allan (RICH)
11. J.Whitlock (RICH)
12. Lindsay (WCE)
13. Hotton/Trainor/Shanahan (STK)
14. Berry (FRE)
15. Armstrong (PORT)
16. Hotton/Trainor/Shanahan/slider (STK)
God, yuck!

God, yuck!
Agree,

I'd prefer to trade into Richmonds later picks with our F1 - Shanahan/Trainor...use 7 and 8 on Langford and Reid/Allan.

If we get Langford, I’m locking in Reid. I think you’re always certainly getting a flanker with a pick in the teens and we could potentially just take two mids with massive scope.

Both Reid and Langford are proven big game players
Would be an amazing combo. Really interested to see where Twomey has Reid in his phantom.
