Heard him interviewed yesterday. Yes he is a fan, however he’s spent time at Richmond and played with their VFL side. And of course he is a talent = to Smillie.

He does have a connection to the club he’s followed all his life.

And it does give him something to balance out the Park Orchards Smillie angle.

That’s all I’m saying.

I think the Park Orchards angle comes into effect in the sense that they are likely rated as equal talents.

But getting first hand info on things like personality the way he may conduct himself etc the intangibles if you will - is how I believe it works in Smillies favour.

Thats the shit these recruiters spend hours trying to work out and Hartley would have some personal knowledge but also the relationships he would hold from within that club
