Alger, Datolli or Hanaford also good small forwards

Any of those would be a good addition. Datolli & Hanaford also have the potential to play midfield which is nice.

Another tidbit from the Herald Sun is Geelong are trying to move up the draft in an attempt to get Alex Dodson and they are also interested in Kayle Gerryn. Richmond are also keen on Dodson, so I wonder if we trade with GWS whether we would consider grabbing Dodson with one of those picks?

Geelong are crafty buggers perhaps they just want to get higher to grab another player. They have Stanley, Conway, Edwards and Neale on their list so you wonder why they would be chasing another ruckman.

I have also been keen on Gerryn and Sims at our pick #32, if we were to miss out on Dodson.

similarly if we did a deal with Richmond, we would probably give up picks #8 and #32 and get back picks #11 and #23

I like the sound of having picks #7, #11, and #23 but that's not what numerical value those picks will have by the time we get to use them (more likely picks #9, #13 and #27) and I wonder if Richmond can really be induced into such a trade (not because it is unfair, but because they might see pick trades as a way to get a stronger hand in next year's draft).
As a Tigers fan I hope we don’t, but if Smillie is still on the board at 8 in this scenario then I could see us entertaining something like this (if the media is accurate with our hard on for him)

We would of picked either FOS or Langford at 6 (7) and then you pick the other leading to Smillie being available at 8.

Can’t see it happening but you’ll never know.

Who is the second player going next to Tauru to push another midfielder down for this to occur?

Because in a world where we can land 2 of Fos Langford and Smillie at 7+8.

I doubt we trade anything.

Just about to post the same thing.

If 2 of FoS Langford and Smillie are available the price for pick 8 is not 11 and 20, but something more substantial.

Fancy having the ability to select say FoS and Smillie and giving it away for a 'fair' trade.
Don't believe that would occur.

I agree, if we are lucky enough to get him I'll be doing backflips.

Not much really as everyone watches and sees things differently. I thought what Finn was able to do as a young kid was exceptional.

I'll agree all home grown talent was a stretch but the vast majority of the side through the years were players that have played the majority of their football at Koroit. Can't deny how good they were for such a long time.

Agree totally that Koroit were excellent for a long period of time. Whatever happens with Finn I hope he is over his injury niggles

Belief of Richmond supporters.

Would only trade their picks for what looks like wins for them and then expect fair trades for our picks 😂

I am a bit of outlier when it comes to Tauru, I see his potenial but his kicking, decision making and production needs work. I also dont see his intercept marking any better than Trainor or even Shanahan.

I am happy North are in love with the kid, but would I take him at #7 or #8 in this years draft most likely not. From our list perspective I prefer a number of other players well before Tauru.

In any event he will hopefully be taken before our pick and we can watch from a distance to see how his career evolves compared to other highly rated talls in this draft.

He is a raw prospect that will be taken off the back of his potential.

I reckon clubs are looking at Shanahan as a nice to have but more of a limited ceiling in comparison.

Trainor is the one. But who the hell knows what’s real and what’s not with that concussion stuff. It’s wild to see him being linked to the eagles at P26!

I'm much the same. He's a good prospect but l feel like he's not for us this year.

I agree. If Richmond want FOS or Smillie at 8 they can hand over 10 and 11.

Yeah it’s a very rare situation if it unfolds. Assuming as you said Tauru goes before our picks. Does Melbourne love Allan and thinks both of our teams would take him before their pick 9?

More likely we would want your pick 7 if Smillie is there but totally understandable you would just pick him.

I think Melbourne Richmond and us all like rate and would like to take Allan.

But if Melbourne took him at 5 it likely means you or us were taking him at 6/7.

Either way It would still look like 2 mids are at our 7/8 - so if we were to trade either pick.

It’s unlikely to be “fair” for the buying club in that event.

Maybe we’d consider 10+11 + Richmond’s f1?
As ludicrous as it sounds it would take a crazy offer at the point to turn our heads. Alas, 2 of those being on the board at our picks seems 1 in a million

If they wanted 8. I’d do 8+ F1 for 10 and 11.

They wouldn’t do it, so it doesn’t matter.

Everyone seems to think GWS will happily give us picks #15 and #16 for our pick #8

It might be more realistic that we give picks #8 and #32 and in return get picks #16, #21 and #56

In this instance we go from picks #7, #8, #32, #47, #80, #88 to #7, #16, #21, #47, #56 and #80

and they go from picks #15, #16, #21, #37, #56, #73 to #8, #15, #32, #37, #73 both good outcomes

similarly if we did a deal with Richmond, we would probably give up picks #8 and #32 and get back picks #11 and #23

In both cases we would get three picks in the first round (desired outcome)

I like the sound of having picks #7, #11, and #23 but that's not what numerical value those picks will have by the time we get to use them (more likely picks #9, #13 and #27) and I wonder if Richmond can really be induced into such a trade (not because it is unfair, but because they might see pick trades as a way to get a stronger hand in next year's draft).
There's something wrong with your post. Black text on grey background after the blue text.

Is that pick swap worth it?
Is pick 19 and 26 (currently 16 and 21) really better than picks 9 and 34 (currently 8 and 32).

An argument could be made, that the nga/fs are not available so the picks could be considered.
8 and 31 for picks 16 and 21 (excluding NGAs and f/s)

Harvey Langford on Friday did an interview with Dwayne Russell.

  • spoke to 15 clubs
  • In the top 6-7 range. Melbourne Carlton Adelaide Stkilda and even Richmond might like him most.
  • clubs in general are just keeping very quiet about their plans
  • He is a Richmond fan and in a perfect world would end up there.
  • Thinks FOS should go pick 1.
  • Thinks he can play round 1 after a pre season

The Peel Thunder premiership player will head east early next week where he is a strong chance to fall inside the top-10 after a stellar season.

Several clubs including Richmond have shown interest in the utility who has the size to play both as a midfielder and a third tall defender.

Allan, 18, has also been on the radar of both West Australian clubs but Fremantle (pick No.14) and West Coast (No.12) might not have access to him with several clubs who have earlier picks in the frame to snap him up.

- interestingly Richmond has been the only club named drop in the last few days over in Perth with regards to Allan.
