2024 Fox Footy AFL Phantom Draft! Late Mail

Stkilda
Draper
Travaglia

GWS
Faull
Alger

Still on the board Reid and Trainor

At least we get Draper who is considered in that top echelon of mids.

I've been bullish on Lindsay and would rather have him over Travaglia, however I put my trust in the club, they've had a good record in recent drafts.

good to know, but i will wait for twomeys mock draft-thursfield conole taylor and misson means will be hearing absolute donuts x4,bad enough skipping the 8-22 minute marks of gettable most weeks to avoid hearing nothing from one of these dudes, without 4 of them on the job

between the 4 of them how many times we gonna hear"yes met xxxxx a few times"......"terrific young kid"......blah blah blah and come out of it with nothing

There has been much speculation about St Kilda’s two top-10 picks. There were earlier suggestions that the Saints could trade one of the picks to GWS, in exchange for two later first-round selections. However, the late mail is that both clubs are quite content with where their picks stand.
The Saints are believed to be focusing on midfielders with their first two picks, but a play for key forward Harry Armstrong can’t be completely ruled out. St Kilda would like big-bodied onballer Josh Smillie to get through to pick 7, but Richmond has been strongly linked to Smillie at pick 6. Some have suggested that Finn O’Sullivan could slip to St Kilda, but that also appears a stretch given he is in the mix for Richmond (pick 1), North Melbourne (pick 2) and Carlton (pick 3). Could it be South Australian star Sid Draper who slides to the Saints? Or perhaps Victorian ace Harvey Langford? Fellow highly-rated midfielders Xavier Lindsay and Bo Allan are also players of interest, while Tobie Travaglia is another who has been linked. Travagalia is an elite-running halfback from Bendigo, but has had some experience in the midfield and would suit St Kilda nicely.
St Kilda has also nominated Next Generation Academy members Adrian Cole and Lennox Hofmann, two taller defenders who are expected to attract bids later in the order. Cole is the favourite to receive a bid first, with Sydney and Collingwood the main bid threats, while West Coast, Melbourne and Geelong have shown interest in Hofmann.
The club also has father-son Elwood Peckett, son of 252-game Saint Justin, available to them and he could attract a late national draft bid. It would be interesting if they didn’t take him given their president’s strong comments on father-sons this year. After delisting Jack Hayes, will the Saints look to another SANFL big man in Magarey medallist Harry Boyd?

You made NOTES?
That’s seriously impressive stuff.
( Looking for a recruiting position are you? )
If you call notes, printing a list of players and putting ticks next to their name when they did something I liked, and the occasional word about position, all from a replay on my computer, well yes I did

It's the summer of tennis.
I've just discovered a previously unrealised love of tennis!

Just hard to work out what we would receive - likley a future pick I guess. Moving back for a pick in the 30s is an average deal, especially since we have one two picks later and with the potential bids, might not need them both.
Future first for a 6 pick slide back?

Gets your Reid or Lindsay

For all we know that’s exactly what AFL recruiters do lol. Either that or right now Dalrymple is looking at Bigfooty thinking ‘why didn’t I think of that?’

Twomey on SEN this morning said clubs are and would be coming hard for our pick 8.

Thinks the top 10 players won’t change in his mock (sounds like Travaglia at 8?)
If FOS or Draper were there at Pick 7, I’d listen to offers. Would be bloody unlikely to trade them but you need to hear out desperate clubs.

Look, I wouldn’t.

There isn’t an offer of draft picks that could make me turn away one of those mids.

You do that and you kiss goodbye another year of Ro and co.

Might aswell have hit rebuild

Depends solely on what you get offered but I hear the sentiment.

If there is a world in which we land one of Draper, Langford or FOS I’ll do cartwheels.

We’re in a great spot with plenty of options. I can’t see how we get it wrong unless sos has a stroke and opts to trade out of this draft.
