The Hoffman bolt is likely off the back of his performance in Trainors absence on the big stage.

It may just be that he hasn't shone to his potential due to playing a less preferred role for the most part of the season. Sounds like we have steal on our hands.

I always thought he would be rated a fair bit higher than Cole - Hofmann is the modern day HBF strong mark, can play on talls or shorts and is quick.

I'm super weary of putting much value on any future picks. Next year's draft is so compromised that the whole system is going to be tested - clubs with academy kids will be offloading top picks for points, and the available talent will be diluted anyway, so there's massive risk there.

Trading down for picks this year is the way to go, not future picks.

There is going to be an absolute goldmine of opportunity next year.

All signs point to being able to trade 2 year's of picks into the future so a shitload of teams are going to be selling 1st rounders for points.

I rekon we could absolutely snap up 2 more firsts next year for our 2026 and 2027 1st rounders. Clear out some picks as Tassie come in to scoop all the talent and we get another couple of kids in with the current group.

I’ve been thinking about this & there’s a possibility of a mega pick swap between us & the Giants…8, 32, 47 for 15,16,21,37 & 56 (doubt they’ll use it)
That would get some arousal on draft night!!
3 pages behind so forgive me if im repeating anything, but im quite liking this, but even better if we could package 37 and 56 to the lions for 27,or does that leave us with nothing to get Cole with if some bugger bids on him before 40?

if 37 and 56 are going to be used on cole and hoffman then its the same deal as 8 and 32 for 15 16 21 pretty much

Am I missing something? ill wait for Twoney's mock draft but seems to be all but confirmed that Nth are taking FOS at 2 and not trading down. Looks like a real risk the top mids are gone again. Can;t see Melbourne taking Tauru.

Would Saints take Tauru in that case?
Yes we would take Tauru.

But Tauru to Melbourne is echoing the news from Friday and Saturday.

If he doesn’t go to North. Melbourne will apparently snap him up.

Explains why North haven’t wanted to trade back.

Yeah it's media driven. 1 good game doesn't impress recruiters.

Draper could go between 3-7. Langford 4-7. Taura 2-7.
One of these 3 will be a saint by close of shop on Wednesday

I dont believe Tauru is worth a top #8 pick, I would rather split that pick and grab one of the other key defenders later in the first round, plus another quality player.
