Travaglia maybe profiles similar to Miles Bergman

Though Bergman is slightly taller he is an ok nice solid player who went pick 14 in his draft year

in his draft year he was considered a bit of a bolter who some thought could go top 10 ..... like Travaglia .... he was seen as strong mark who could break lines and had a penetrating kick ... he could also go forward and kick a goal

Now we see him as ok player who can get a job done but he probably isn't going to win you a game off his own boot ..... in fact after 50+ games he is yet to record a brownlow vote

It's not the type of player you want to be using a 1st round pick on ... let alone a top 10 pick when you are screaming for mids

Ship him in lads

Lyon Silvagni Dalrymple & Allen would have got plenty wrong in the past .... why not Travaglia??
No reason they don't. I have said tonight I prefer others, but some of the carry on, saying he is Nathan Wright, and shitcanning a kid of 18 because he is not Cripps, Bont and Butters rolled into one off a 3 minute highlight reel is highly amusing.

We haven't even drafted the kid and it's the end of the world for some.
As I said I prefer other and will be disappointed if we do draft him with my preferred still on the table, but if we do, I will give the kid the benefit of the doubt and back the kids.
Some won't, but I am sure you would give him a go.

I get the question marks over his kicking (although I don't think it's as bad as some are suggesting), but I'm not worried about Travaglia becoming a mid. He looks every bit a midfielder with his contested work, his ability to get his hands free and his tackling game.

Looks like a gun here.

And the x factor to kick 3 goals in the 4th quarter to level the scores is HUGE.

I think Twomey has gone very very safe with this mock draft .... I think he may put out another update tomorrow ... but to me this year he genuinely doesn't know what will happen .... so play it safe so at least he might get a few correct
I think the evenness of this draft has made it really tricky for him.
Let’s hope so anyway.

Agree with this

Watching his highlights (other ones as well) most of his kicks are a long boot down the line to a contest .... no precision kicking opening up the field or elite decision making... just get it and kick long

Agree also that his ball drop is awkward as well as his handballing style ... sort of throws himself at it ... and he can't handball with his opposite hand

He is a nice runner and can break lines but what good is that if you just going to indiscriminately kick it long to no one on particular

He is a solid mark and spoils well one on one but has been measured at 187cm and skinny as a baby giraffe .... don't think he has the frame to bulk up

Will probably be an OK wingman or back flanker ...... but not a pure mid

Not keen at all
Reminds me of miles Bergman. Just don't want so much!

One positive about Travaglia is that he is a late October baby so one of the youngest in the draft ...... so he still may have some growing to do

If he could get to 192-3cm then ....... it could be a game changer with that height and his endurance capabilities .... but

Think his Dad's name is Steve ... below is a picture from the late 90s of a Steve Travaglia playing for Heathcote Saints in the Heathcote District FL (not far from Bendigo) .... ruck rover apparently ...... omen is there

He has 13 players for each team. Wouldn’t get too fussed until Wednesday whispers. Truly can’t believe north. Is this another handout play? No lock that they’ll get a high KPP next year. But but … Goad and Logue and Mike McCann and Tim McGrath ..

I think Tauru has the highest ceiling in the draft. It’s travalglia that scares me
St Kilda was mentioned
Two options for me.

Option 1:

Keep 7, take Tauru - trade 8, 32 & F1 for Reid, Hynes & Trainor.

Option 2:

Trade F1 & 7 for FOS, 8 for Reid & Trainor.

That's best case assuming North and Crows don't trade.
Who do North take if they drop down the order?

Mildly interesting how Twomey has us taking Travaglia before the Viking.

On the upside, if we do take both then we have seriously added to our blonde men depth.

However, no doubt there will be many misspellings of Travaglia and Tauru which will inevitably go down well with some on here.

On a more seriously positive note, Tobie definitely fits into our side as a running team, and though he isn’t super exciting on paper, he has continuously been praised since draft coverage started.

And Tauru could be literally anything, he’s the bolter of the top 10. We obviously need gun mids, but we have been forced to take best available the last 3 years and they have turned out pretty darn. well (Nasiah, Phillipou, Wilson)

Lastly, Trainor sliding to 28 is pretty wilddddd, must be some truth to those concussion rumours which were being dispelled.
Heard from a source it’s known that trainor loves the bags

What genuine top end midfielders do we have?

Dont tell me Phillipou who is a forward first and learning craft as a mid.

Don’t mention Owens who is clearly a forward.

Windy looks a likely AFL type. Not yet shown he is an AFL level midfielder unfortunately

Nas is a half back.

Wilson is a winger/flanker
Where did these guys play in their under 18 years?

Thats a good place to start.
