Everything hinges on Adelaide at pick 4.

If they take Draper then it’s status quo. If they take Langford then Draper will slide to us.

Twomey said it’s a lineball call.

Does anyone know what the Adelaide board think will happen?

FWIW I have a pretty solid connection to Port Adelaide’s FD… and they seem convinced Adelaide will take Draper.

What about 8 for 10 & 11?

Works well for both clubs.
What about we just take the two best available and move on, why are people hell bent on trading back for inferior players ?. I mean why stop at three surely we can turn 7/8 into 5 picks then 10. Corner the market on good ordinary players and Smokey’s.

They can easily split pick #2 and still have two good first round picks

Honetsly, If North guarantee taking Tauru at 4, I would give them our pick 32
Adelaide IN: 2 OUT 4 + F3
ROOS; IN 4+32 OUT 2+F3
STK In 2xF3 OUT 32

That will allow Draper to slide to us at 7.. so we sacrifice 32 to get Draper

Remember, we got 27 in this years draft by trading down from 17 to 18, allowing GWS to get Leake, who they liked. We have already turned 27 into McRae+32... So why not now use 32 +7 to get Draper??

(This all assumes that we like Draoer! But he seems a great fit for us )

I think bagging the club is more it. I don’t think anyone has actually ever bagged the kid himself. as Twomey said hel probably be a ‘pretty good 200 game half back’ Melbourne roll in with an already star studded midfield and look like they are gonna get my dream haul of Langford and Lindsay. We will get behind them and next year when we get obliterated in the clearances again and have no young talent stepping up in there supporters will get frustrated and go omg I thought X Y Z had a massive pre season training with the midfielders! I feel like we’ve had this discussion since 2017 on getting up to the high end of the draft and securing an elite level mid. There’s 6 of them in this draft and we have pick 7 that’s the melts.
People have called him a guaranteed bust and worse than Wright, bagged his kicking and said he is a nothing pick.
So you are wrong when you said nobody bagged him personally.

Both Travaglia and Tauru have several suitors…fun & games tomorrow night
Will be interesting. SoS did well getting a free 2nd rounder for swapping places with GWS and still landing Wilson.
Underrated pick trade.

This makes so much sense to me, at least from our 32 for Draper @ 7 point of view. Even if it guarantees one of Smillie or Langford, the trade is still 100% worth it.

I'm not as fussed as others because I feel like we need elite players in every area of the ground. What good young KPDs do we have? Surely Tauru fits a need. As for Travaglia if we rate him way higher and more likely to become elite than Lindsay, Reid, Allan etc then take him.

We need elite players not more B graders.

With pick 32 (if we still have it), I hope we are looking at my boy Jack Ough.
If Alex Dodson is there at 32 he would have to be looked at closely too. West Australian midfield pair Cody Angove and Hugh Boxshall could be in the mix, they have done work on defender James Barrat, while the Saints have also assessed Tom Ryan, a Sydney Academy prospect who is a tall forward and the cousin of Richmond's Samson

Let’s go James Barrat and really shore up our backline with a 5 defender this off season.

But seriously out of that list above… one name fits the athletic bill.

Claremont premiership Colt Hugh Boxshall is being considered a potential top 40 draft prospect after storming home with a wet sail in his top-age campaign. The midfielder missed out on a National Draft Combine invite, but dominated WA's state meet to post overall podium finishes in the 2km time trial (6:08), agility test (7.980 seconds), and standing vertical jump (73cm).

Boxshall's endurance base is arguably his most desirable trait, as he leans on his running capacity to impact around the ground, adding to his dominant clearance work. At 188cm, he has the size to stand up in tackles and distribute from the coalface, boasting a clean set of hands to shark the rucks' taps having protected the drop zone with his big frame.

An average of 25 disposals per his seven WAFL Colts appearances this year attests to Boxshall's strong ball winning acumen. He can perhaps become a little more expansive and versatile when it comes to his ball use and metres gained on the outside, though is capable of taking unbelievably brave over head marks and kicking the ball neatly going inside 50.

Boxshall's late rise this year started at the National Championships, where he played the last three games for WA with averages of 18 disposals and five marks. He slotted in rather seamlessly to the Black Swans' engine room, adding an edge at the contests and meeting the required work rate. He capped off his year with 30 touches in Claremont's Colts Grand Final victory.

DRAFT RANGE: 30-50

I'd like Dodson at that pick

One thing is for certain. I’ve never seen a draft year were the clubs are staying so quite. I wouldn’t be surprised in cal draft is completely wrong.
It feels like the one that could really change is North taking Tauru. They are obviously mad for him but have FOS higher on their rankings. That will be the most interesting one.
