Thanks stavro#4 for posting those highlights of both Tauru and Travaglia.

The first time that I have really looked at either.
I’d be happy with Tauru as a best available pick.
Think he could be anything, there’s a Reiwoldt/Heeney vibe about him.
I’m afraid that Travaglia doesn’t rock my boat as much.
If we don’t trade out #8, I’d prefer to reach for Allan.
If I recall, he was the only midfield option available with four elite traits per the Champion Data links posted here in the last week or so.
All the other top level mids had three or fewer elite traits.
(I think Smillie only had the one).
Both of them can run, which suits our style, and I could see both playing next year.
Though I reckon they’ll be slow burn, but high upside types.

Honestly think this is so even that it’s really too close to call.
Which clubs would have told him exactly who they’re after?
FOS and Labor probably the only two safe bets (excluding Ashcroft).
Norf can definitely throw a spanner in the works.

At least there’s some sort of midfield sample size and the skill set he has looks more likely to translate.

Its an unpopular opinion but I dont feel the same love for Tauru.

I understand I am a complete outlier, but I just dont see him being a dominant player at AFL level. For a tall kid he doesnt have a big frame, to me he projects more like a third tall than a key position player at the top level. I'd go as far to say I'd even prefer other key defenders to him for our list.

I dont see the hype at all and genuinely hope we split one of our picks rather than taking Tauru. I would much prefer a combination of players and believe the club would be in a better position going forward.
