Clearly we ain’t taking Reid. Can’t see why he slips. Hoping it’s a massive covert operation and we draft him. Guess we will know in a few years how it all pans out.
Still praying for Draper / Langford to slip through but hope we don’t slide back.
I love how Travaglia goes about it but some of his kicking is bordering on embarrassing

One thing with both those guys even off half back, They make an impact at stoppages.
Neither are outside players
100% would rather Allan over Travaglia.
Played midfield against men all year.
Has a better all round athletic profile.
Keeps his feet, which Trav seems to always go to ground when getting ground ball at the contest. Has greater leadership acumen. Pair him with Boxshall, and we are all happy again.

Its an unpopular opinion but I dont feel the same love for Tauru.

I understand I am a complete outlier, but I just dont see him being a dominant player at AFL level. For a tall kid he doesnt have a big frame, to me he projects more like a third tall than a key position player at the top level. I'd go as far to say I'd even prefer other key defenders to him for our list.

I dont see the hype at all and genuinely hope we split one of our picks rather than taking Tauru. I would much prefer a combination of players and believe the club would be in a better position going forward.

Absolutely comfortable with Tauru if he doesn't get taken earlier. I'd prefer to swap pick 8 for the two teens picks and hope one of Allen, Reid, Lindsay or Hotton get through whilst getting Trainor with the other. Ough @ 32 and that's making the best out of the situation we find ourselves in.

With the messaging out of the club all year around wanting to bolster the midfield I would be dumbfounded if at least one of our selections wasn't the best midfielder still available.
Cal Twomey was on SEN and stated that clubs have been far more tight lipped about their intentions this year. I doubt he has managed to gather the intel he has in previous years so he's just had to take an educated guess.

Trainor slips to 29 in Cals draft

If we get the Viking I'm not sure we should use a pick on Trainor.

Lock in Tauru then hope like hell Lindsay & Reid get through would be my hope.

If the Club view the best player available to be a lot superior to the best Mid available, they'll always go the former.

Anyone access the new HSun article with late mail on the Saints top picks? Has a pic of Harry Armstrong….link is on SuperCoach Facebook page

Strong chance we're trolling with our leaked interest in Tauru and Travaglia.

BOTH players have huge interest from other Clubs. Our leaked interest will be for Clubs ahead of us to jag Tauru earlier (NM or Melbourne) and Clubs behind us to pony up deals for access to Travaglia and possibly Tauru.

Bidding on Lombard or Kako will buy us time to make a sweeter deal for Pick 8. NM would absolutely be throwing a Future First at us for Tauru....and that offer probably won't be enough.

Good position to be in and I believe these interests are smoke and mirrors. Time will tell.

The midfield situation isn't quite as dire as everyone is making it out to be with the addition of McLobster. Yes it's only for 3 years or so most likely, but that's still 1 midfield addition we've made in the off season. We don't have to draft 2 or 3 mids or we're screwed. Steele, McLobster, Windhager, Clark, Dow, Jones, Pou, Garcia. It's not star studded but it is our most deficient area. Clark and Dow would probably want to have a good year next year or get used to playing for the Zebs. Jones only has a few years left and is another who might end up in the 2's. We've also got Wilson, Henry, Stocker who can occasionally do a spell in the midfield.

A powerful, line breaking mid with skill would be the dream though to compliment our midfield. Draper or Smillie would be the best fit I think. If we get either of those 2 tomorrow I think it makes a big difference.

Just a feeling? Or could this actually be true?
True. They stuffed up announcing the plan after Sandy had done all their recruitment for the year. Realised half way through the season that there wasn't going to be anyone good enough to draft.

Will most likely keep it for next year and are trying to recruit the best kids that go undrafted.
