How can the AFL approve that trade? It’s literally a top 3-4 pick for pick 27. That’s a disaster

They know North are about to get Band 1 compo for LDU so it works out.

I don't think it's that bad. Especially igiven plenty had Whitlock in the 15-18 range.

I wouldn't be surprised if we go for another tomorrow.

I'm not upset...I'm just bemused. I know we went for best available, it makes sense, I get it. However I think all of us would've liked to have nabbed at least one of the first round mids.
It just seems a bit meh, considering the hype of the draft and what we so clearly and desperately need.

With a list like that, wouldn't be surprised to see Richmond sell the first pick of the second round for another future first.

Lousy draft for key forwards, Faull was first taken at 14, Armstrong tumbled to 23, poor Whitlock's gone to Norf at 27, other Whitlock and Shanahan still on the board despite the first round being an absurd 27 picks.

And I bet you Geelong is that club, in order to take Dodson.

And we'll have offered a better deal, but the Tigers will still go with them Cats.

And Dodson will be a gun.

well to be fair, one time, we really needed a forward....and we picked him over the best mid.

I believe the 2 players we we picked are genuinly the best players available

Richmond did it beautifully found a desperate team and extracted insane value.

North played hardball with there pick 2 and got Finn who will be a fine player but they had there hearts set on Alix and wouldn’t give an inch on what they wanted in a trade.
Then panicked and made a ridiculous trade

Our 7 + F1 wasn’t enough for them for this years pick 2 and then they go and trade next years pick 2 for a bag of beans lol

19 is the absolute best case scenario. Likely 3-4 academy/FS picks to push that back, plus the AFL's annual pick handout to garbage clubs.

But with that trade back in, that means they basically traded at top 3 pick for Caleb f****ng Daniel
