Dare i say it but i think Guldens contract signing will be a fait accompli. He is born and bred here and doesnt feel the need to move, particularly as we value him highly. He will be looked after with a long term contract.

2024 OOC
I think one or more of McDonald/Hayward/Florent/Melican might be the ones that might escape us in terms of return home or better deal elsewhere. In the case of McDonald (hope he stays), we might be able to get some decent draft capital as replacement which would add to our current 2 x first rounders.
TBH i hope all the the above stay. I think we have a great balance at the moment in our team structure and game plan. The way we are playing (bar the Richmond game) demonstrates that.
I think Fox will re-sign for a couple of years and cover and eventually take Rampes role until a suitable replacement can be found. Francis (26 - thought he was older!) will also re-sign i believe or move to SA to live out his playing days playing for one of the Adelaide clubs.
Cunningham being 30 could call it a day especially if he has lingering effects of concussion. Sam Reid calls it a day - we all know his unfortunate history.

2025 OOC -
i wonder if Parker and Rampe might call it a day at the end of next year which would free up cap space. Potentially Lloyd as well.
Not sure if Ladhams has met expectation and with Grundy holding the fort in the ruck on his own with McLean helping out i cant see a place for him. Hamling will probably retire.
Campbell, Roberts, Sheldrick, the Warner brothers and Cleary would be priority signings for next year.
Roberts being earmarked for Lloyds role, Sheldrick being earmarked for Parkers role with Clearly as next man up.
Longmire will re-sign for a couple of years as head coach and then have a succession plan for Cox to take over i assume.

Logan and Errol wanting to stay at Swans.

Discussion around matter of years.

Directly from mouth of their manager.

Has been communicated to other clubs in AFL.

I think the money stuff is a beat up with Logan, as it is with most players.

He will either be happy to stay in Sydney or want to go home. He is going to get well paid regardless of what he decides.
I agree, however he also has a manager who receives a %, therefore it is in their best interest to get the highest amount they can. It comes down to whether the player is able to be firm enough with their manager if they want to stay.

We probably want them longer than FA, they probably want until FA which is fair

Of course. They will try to get as much as they can get for their players. But I think players, who will get paid well regardless, leaving for money is pretty rare and not something we should be worried about.

Freo board right now

Season 5 No GIF by The Office

They're currently trying to pry Warner out, just like the West Coast board have been doing with Gus recently

Makes more sense but even then still, midfield isn't an area Freo need to build.

They need small/ medium forwards, wingers and defenders.

Probably more complicated with incentives such as no of goals kicked/assists in Logan's case. If I have the FA stuff right they would want 4 or 6.

Probably be incentives to kick in certain triggers with a contract Gulden too you’d think a Brownlow might be one

Disagree their midfield still needs some work

It's time I tells ya, it's time and Ticky009 can't stop me.......well alright she could, but tentative talk re; Logan, Errol, JUH, Zurhaar etc, academy games have started and even Gettable is back on AFL.com so.......

In terms of the 2024 draft we have our own 1st rounder, NM's 1st end of 1st rd priority pick, no 2nd rounder (Grundy trade) and our own 3rd rounder.

FWIW and based on nothing more deifnte than the feelgood factor around the club I think we'll retain all those OOC* players that we wish to.

Will be checking the leader board at times though to get an idea what is being posted .
I do observe that you are in 3rd position , over some well known podium stalwarts .
