At this point, he is just an eternal tease to that supporter base. Solid in normal season, absolutely spineless in finals.

2017 Giants did this.

Only kicked 6 goals in their qualifying final against Adelaide.
Then beat West Coast by 70 the week after, before ultimately falling to Richmond by 40 in the prelim.

Geelong in the same season as well.
Kicked 5 goals in their qualifying final, losing by 50.
Won their semi by 60.
Then lost their prelim by 60.

It happens so often when top 4 sides get belted in the QF. They bounce back the next week and get slayed again in the PF.

There's often more of a gap in quality between top 4 and bottom 4 of the Eight than this year.

If Port don’t sack Hinkley after this then they’re not a serious football club. This would have to be the absolute worst performance from a top 4 side in the first week of finals in a long time.

This belongs in the Sack Hinkley thread. No one is sacking their coach in the middle of a finals series.

He’s done well to get them this far with a fairly weak list, they remind me a bit of us in 2018. Top 4 but not a flag threat.

This has really changed the complexion of our campaign. No more MCG run for us any more. To win it we are going to have go through Adelaide and Sydney. Also.... Geelong are now 2 wins away from another flag with one of the weakest squads i can remember. Hawthorn and The Dogs odds will plummet because of this. Port will come out breathing fire next weekend (and then true to form probably wilt again in the prelim).
