OK, I won't be able to watch the GF until replay late Sat night. So here's my prediction:

Lions by a large margin in the 4th.

WhY?

Rampe basically conceded he's emotionally checked out...'nobody cares about your story, and we don't care about theirs.', and having tasted defeat 3 times with that mentality...as soon as things turn dark that vibe will spread like herpes.

Lions have nothing to lose by comparison and are desperate (or should be) to stamp themselves as winners. It really is now or never for them, so I believe the late season run of desperate wins will hold up in the 4th quarter.

I might be wrong...but that's what I'm feeling based on the interviews and general vibe of the teams. However.....Heeny tap to Heeny, who passes to Heeny...cannot be discounted.

Happy GF day! One of the great days on the Australian calendar.

My tipping has been particularly bad this finals series and I’m hoping it continues.

I’m tipping Swans to run away a bit as fear Lions have played their GF with back to back interstate nail biters.

Hope I’m wrong as I’d prefer a Lions win but not a lot of emotional investment in this one. Just want a good close game

Aha. I just saw this graphic from the AFL and now understand why they want an evening grand final. Not for TV ratings here which could hardly improve, but to move Europe and New York into better viewing timezones.



Like with everything, the AFL cannot just be honest. If they said they wanted a night Grand Final so that our biggest spectacular could be presented on the international stage, just like Australia’s other spectacular, the Aussie Open, then I certainly would be more receptive to that idea. And I imagine others would as well.

But like normal, the AFL must manipulate. They dare not try persuading.
