Seems like #3 atm. We’re better than north/west coast normally. Our best is better than a lot of teams but our worst is much worse.Look at the bright side. Least there isn’t calls to try to get the #1 pick this year…
If we trade our first pick this year, for a player that will help us make and win finals I’m all for it. If the club decides to keep it and keep investing in youth, I’m also for it. The season has just started. People need to relax and wait and see how the season plays out first.
we could really do with a hall similar to rozee and butters! Might need brave trading but could set up the club for 10 yearsAgreed, we need to hit the draft hard one more time and get a top 3 pick this year. Our highest pick so far has been 5 and the top 3 are where you find your jamarras, JHFs, Walshes, Daicoses who are elite players.
well I suppose career best for Ramma still isn't a lot (given how early in career he is)Honestly - if this were true, we wouldn’t be 0-4.
We are on the right track but this is a bit OTT.
I wouldn’t mind us having a ping at him to be honest. Would be a lot better at another club but is a real battering ram up forwardJust saw that zurhaar is a free agent and I’m already furious at the first round compo the shinbeggars will inevitably receive.
I think King is way off here in that there's no way we're gonna try to keep bottoming out the next 3-4 years to get better draft picks.
But it does raise the discussion of who our next absolute jets of the competition are going to be. The match-winners that will compete with the likes of JHF, Reid, Daicos, Ashcroft, Sheezel etc in the years ahead. Do we have them on the list? I'm most bullish on Weddle and Wiz, but I don't think we'll really know for a couple of years.
I think we are well on course for not having a team of championsI think and hope what we are doing is building a champion team rather than a team of champions. Give me a team that has the best bottom 6 going around than having the best individual player in the comp! That’s the Hawthorn way.

They'll just draft another midfielder.Just saw that zurhaar is a free agent and I’m already furious at the first round compo the shinbeggars will inevitably receive.
Word on the street is that we have. Was posted a few pages back that we are ‘trying to make him the highest paid player ever’ I believe.Would love the hawks to get Sam Taylor from GWS. I know would be hard because they are in their premiership window, but hawks could offer him significant $ to bring him over. He’d be my number 1 target. Next would be McCluggage.

Interesting that you included Sheezel and Reid as 'match-winners' considering their current sides fortunes.
I've also seen enough of Jai Newcombe playing big games at the moment it's most required to know he deserves to be in that discussion.
Day, Newcombe, Watson and Weddle are the ones we'd be expecting to fit that bill to varying degrees.
I’d move heaven and earth for ReidSheezel is absolutely brilliant. Has there ever been a player who has had a more impressive debut season?
Reid looks like he will become the generational player everyone thought he would be, though it's early days of course.
They are obviously projecting with dubbing them as "match winners" though, but IMO they look like they have the equivalent talent of guys like Daicos, Petracca, etc. It's hardly their fault the rest of their sides are either too young (in North's case) and not good enough.
I think if Day was not injured this season he'd be held in similar regard. Newcombe has shown he can be a real driving force in the side too.
He’s the best analyst in the game by a distance. Predictions is not his forte but that’s unfortunately part of any media gig.David King's opinion is as useful as a penis flavored lollipop.
How he keeps getting airtime is beyond we.
Never forget his prediction in the 2014 Grand Final swans by 60+
Thanks Kingy , do you think Hawthorn's game style is sustainable ?He’s the best analyst in the game by a distance. Predictions is not his forte but that’s unfortunately part of any media gig.
