Barrass to take the 1
Frost to take the 2
Battle to take the 3rd tall
Scrim to play the Sic role

Sic to play forward rotating with Battle. Weds to move up the ground.

Excited Jim Carrey GIF

Was watching the 2015 prelim last night.

Lake Frawley Stratton Gibbo Birch Burgers Doc and Hodgey were all spending time in the back line.

No wonder we were winning flags!!!!

Frost is a keeper, we don't lose to Port if Frosty plays. Career best year, will probably finish top 10 in the PCM.

He has the pace to play on smalls and height to play on the talls, very versatile.

with his athletic build he has a good 2 to 3 years of smashing who ever he plays on to come.

It's a no from me to trade him off

I mentioned this earlier but with the draft happening after the trade period if we were to somehow snag a F1 for Frosty then they could turn around knowing full well that we've traded him and demand 2 x 1st for Barrass. I'm not saying they would but they could very well pray on our desperation and try to bend us over. Just worth a though that's all.
IF Frosty was to leave for better terms, I very much doubt we would deal on him until after the Barrass deal was finalised. It would be suicidal to lose Frost then not complete the Barrass deal.

I really can't see Frosty wanting out, although I get the added security of a longer contract.

I watched that recently as well.

Was an underrated banger. The Freo crowd was insane that night. Genuine arm wrestle and highly skilled game.

Some of our battles with Freo in that time were great. The 2013 grand final might be dour but it's an underrated contest and they throw everything at us in the second half of the last quarter and if Lake isn't back there to repel most of it who knows what happens.

Would love Frost to stay.

He can play on smalls as well as power forwards.
Frost staying would allow Hardwick to go forward more, Sicily to play where he pleases and Battle to be the full time interceptor.

Can’t begrudge him going for a bigger deal but after being a journeyman, you’d think he’d want to play for a team that’ll be top 4 and contending the next 1-3 years which is probably how long he has left

Frost an interesting one

Outside of his decision making might be the perfect no nonsense depth guy. Great clubman, is in the age and experience level that really helped especially this year.

He might be tempted to go considering the names coming in. Not convinced he is worth as much as we would hope and the fact he is contracted at the end of the day the ball is in Hawthorn's court. One of those he is worth more to us than them people.

Would think if he asks to go we would allow it as he has earned the right to but it is a big move with a young family if he isnt definitely slotting into the best side. Saints would make more sense with that as he would pretty much take Battle's position.

Think he stays and it is more teams looking at what is coming in and thinking someone will need to be pushed out. It is up to Hawthorn to convince Frosty that he is best 22 still despite the guys coming in

Our little visitor at least poses an interesting point - Sydney's draft hand is presently picks 18,19 and 56. I doubt they'd be willing to hand over either 18 or 19 and I doubt we would accept pick 56 - so it would be future picks or some pick swaps if Frost wants to take them up on their offer.

I get that you’d rather keep him than give him away for nothing. He’s probably worth more to you as a back up than a junk pick

At the same time you’ve gone ahead and recruited not one, but two players who will be above him in your defensive pecking order. Do you think he’s in your best 22 now?

All I was saying was 18 or 19 won’t be in the picture and we don’t have a second round.

If you’d like me to multi quote earlier posts a couple of pages back, multiple suggested they’d require a second rounder and one poster suggested he was worth a first round pick.

The latter simply isn’t realistic and if he decides he wants out, what is a 31 year old, non best 22 player worth?

No need for the insults, my post was reasonable

Sure until you ran to your board talking shit.

Don’t come on here with your “my posts were reasonable” rubbish because a trip to the Minnow 2 Premierships in 80 odd years board and anyone can see your little game

Again **** off.

Frost will play alongside Barrass and Battle, he has already been given this assurance by Sam.

You running back to your board and calling us delusional when you clearly haven't understood any of the context is not reasonable.

No - all you were doing was lying about what we were discussing here to try and like-farm on your board. I am hardly going to engage with you in good faith as a result.

Anyone know what's happened to Brandon Ryan after we traded him last year? 26yrs old turning 27 this year and has only played one game this season
Just don't think he's very good. Had a great game against the Pies last year but that was it.

I can still picture him jogging to the interchange to be subbed against Freo last year after getting one handball, felt like it took him an eternity to get off the ground

That wasn't all you were saying - you almost instantly went back to your board saying 'teehee guess what the delusional Hawks posters said!!' and completely lied your ass off about it to harvest some likes. That post still stands - if you want to be reasonable you could go and delete it but I think we all know you won't be doing that as it's getting some precious engagement for you. Enjoy the dopamine hit. Personally if my team were playing in a prelim this week I wouldn't be wasting my time on other club's boards in the first place - are you so sure of another end of year choke job that you are focussing on the trade period instead?

Doesn’t bother me personally

Frost is a journeyman and won’t play in the same team as Barrass, I’m guessing he’s seen the writing in the wall and had his head turned
This is why people think, and rightly so, that Swans supporters know absolutely nothing about afl.

Caj - you have quoted a poster that would want more than pick 36-40 for a contracted player coming off career best form likely to be offered a multi-year deal. You have quoted a person talking a Frost + a second for a end of first round compo pick. You have quoted one person saying they'd want an early second rounder (who wouldn't). You have then quoted a person who was clearly taking the piss about getting a 1st rounder. None of these people are legitimately stamping their feet saying that Sydney are going to deal us a first round pick. Clearly based on your post to likes ratio nobody likes you on your own board so I get why you are seeking validation elsewhere - but before the threadban arrives can I suggest that you kindly **** off you insufferable campaigner?

Respectfully to all posters saying Frosty won't be best 22 next season - give your head a wobble.

Sam has openly said Frosty is pretty much the first name on the whiteboard, and had agreed the trigger which Sam Frost activated to be extended.

He has been in the top 6 of our players all season.

Barrass and Battle COMPLIMENT frosty, not replace him.

He will stay down back and let others - Weddle, Sicily, Hardwick, Amon - be reallocated as needed against certain sides.

He's been brilliant this year, and I for one, would be amazed if Sammy Mitchell is going to discard him so easily.

He absolutely is best 22 next season.

Your posting history clearly highlights your hatred for Hawthorn. Stop being a disingenuous dumb **** claiming your post was reasonable, when its quite clear what you were trying to do.

Yup - this. Barrass and Battle help to replace Frosty long-term. In the near term though they free up other players like Hardwick, Sicily and Weddle.

Hawthorn hates him too.

Frosty was very unlucky not to be in the AA squad this year I believe, was our best defender all year
He compliments the new additions, they aren’t pushing him out.

I hope we pony up and give him an extra year or two on his current deal, players are after more years (job security) over money so leaving when he has a baby on the way makes a lot of sense to me if he’s been offered a multi year deal
