Given Gunston has already re-signed i'm unsure if we can delist him before we re-rookie.. You're spot on with us needing to delist 3 guys with Barrass still to come in this trade period! I think it's more likely we see a contracted player traded than Gunston moved to the rookie list

Good analysis, wouldn't surprise me if they delisted and then placed one of the likes of Butler, Gunston and Bruest on the rookie list. In such a strong draft its a shame if we only have 2 live picks. Not sure how they get a 3rd.

I don’t disagree with what you’ve posted but do you think it’s time the industry grew up ?

Do we really need to have the tough guy posturing ?

Can we just grow up & do deals that a fair for everyone, instead of having to win every trade ? .

I get a bit sick of this argument, the league IS mature enough already.

Nobody is 'tough guy posturing' outside of argument on bigfooty and idiots on trade radio and the general media filling space.

Nothing the Eagles have said is anything other than playing a straight bat to direct questions which can't be answered.

Most deals DO get done leaving both clubs happy.

Argument on forums don't represent how shit really goes down.

The trope that the league needs to grow up is so tired.

Richmond are going to field sides next year that would have likely got beat by the early GWS and GC sides. It is going to get ugly.

Happens all the time.

Wingard got recontracted in September last year (https://www.hawthornfc.com.au/news/1425841/wingard-commits-for-2024) and then was delisted in October. The intention was to re-rookie but we ended up taking him back on the senior list via the Pre-Season Draft due to other club interest.

I'm expecting one or both of Gunston/Bruest or even BMac or Butler to be demoted to the rookie list despite contracts for next year.

Yeah it's mental, I always thought he wasnt a good play reader, doesn't think quick enough.. I guess it's hard to pick up those deficiencies during the draft.
