Spitballing....

Wonder if the Dogs would be open to moving Macrae on for the added list space, on the cheap, while we pay for Smith with a future 1st.

We take on Macrae's contracted remaining 3 years for a 2nd or 3rd round pick, they get space to sign JUH and English.

Macrae into our midfield brings contested ball winning, leadership and experience that we may feel we are lacking on the back of our season to date( who knows they might not be that worried by it, and think its just a temporary form slump).

Bringing in someone like Smith to the middle, goes without saying.

would be an immediate shot in the arm to our midfield.
He's on a massive contract and can't get a game, I'm not giving up a third round pick to take on his massive contract.

Really?
So you think he is out of the team because of Bevos lack of knowledge about his footballing ability and worth to his team.

He can get 35 but if his opponent is ONLY getting 25 and hurting them on the scoreboard, I think it’s pretty obvious that 10 or 15 useless sideways kicks don’t mean much other than to fantasy footy players. He has always had a lot of the safe sideways possessions that have little hurt factor.

He has trouble with the defensive side of his game because he is slow over the ground. At least that is how I see him at present
Bevo isn't exactly known for making the best decisions with his team selections or playing positions, he's actually highly criticised for it.

Macrae is a contested inside mid who is for some reason playing on a wing/hff by Bevo which is hurting his game and team massively.

Think Macrae would be a step back for us to be honest.

Would be going back to JOM/TOM. Should be moving away from slow mids not trying to bring them in.

If it helps get Baz though 🤔

Hawk supporter as a kid

Would walk in and be our best mid, if not 2nd

Dogs a rabble

We would offer truckloads of $$$$

If Smith moves and DOESN'T come to us, that would be the one that hurts the most (McKay, Lynch, etc)
Also best mates with CJ from school

....i dont want another Cogs fiasco so I am keeping my expectations low

Yeah, so David King said we need a priority pick and to trade Mitch Lewis. It's bad but it's nowhere near that ******* bad. * you David.

Why does that upset you?
Mitch is hardly proving durable enough to be a reliable key forward for us. Its not that crazy an idea to trade him out.

I would hope we dont ask for a priority pick and that we just make our own way out of the cellar.
I think we can and I think we are better than what our percentage suggests.

We should target Daniel and smith. we don’t need macrae we should invest in Hustwaite.
We’re talking about lacking leadership and experience in the middle to right the ship.

Playing more kids won’t help that.

Let me respond to all the comments. I would take a priority pick if it was offered yes, but if we were in a place to even be offered one - that would be horrific. And Lewis can under no circumstances be traded unless we were to get like a JUH or an already-developed young key forward. We never get a first-round pick for him, at best an early 2nd round - and that is absolutely not worth it.
