AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
How do we get pick 6 when we start with 12 which goes to the Dogs for Smith?I wonder if Fremantle will come for our first if it’s around pick 6 if it’s around that number, so they could try to use it for Chad Warner.
Mitch also knows how’s to play the game, I have no doubt we have a very particular list and free agent strategy, it’s not that tricky either, bid on everyone and anything, who we actually end up with is the real game (also a fair bit of luck)Didn't Mitch have personal chats with Mckay and Henry ? Hopefully his reputation improving as a coach helps us this time around.
2023: Fluid situations
2024: Solid mail
2025? Some variety of gas or plasma I wager

You forgot Harley Reid. On the way right ?This thread does hocus pocus magic tricks at this point in the year, and creates picks out of nothing.
I predict we will have three picks inside the top 10 within 4 weeks.
its not up to the dogsJagga will be top 5. Even top 3.
There's no way the Dogs take a F1 for Baz.
It will be this year's 1st, or he's off to the Cats.

Give him time, I see him cracking it and staying there.Ward may be Bulldogs bound. He's in a similar position to Josh Kennedy all those years ago, good player but can't see him cracking into the midfield at Hawthorn any time soon.

That wasn’t really a denial though, only that nothing got to any meaningful point.Sam Mitchell denies actively shopping Hawks players

Thought Gowers speech was a bit odd and missed the markBigmaxi, TBH it was a slightly disappointing night. Listed as running 6.30 - 8.30, only went for an hour from 7-8. (Temper Trap rehearsing on the ground for NRL was the supposed reason). Nat Edwards hosted.
Andy Gowers was first up and updated us on Dingley with some impressive drone vision of the work so far (available on the Hawks app apparently) and announced we're over 80k membership.
Rob McCartney and Sam spoke next. A slide went up of all he negative media articles from last year / earlier this year (tanking etc.) then was contrasted with all the feel-good media articles and headlines of late. Essentially Rob was saying that we have a plan and we know where we're going and anything outside the club (positive or negative) is just noise. I always find Rob a hugely impressive speaker.
Sam mentioned Wardy (see earlier post) with no prompting - seems top of mind - and said that this year we're beyond the pure development stage - but still developing nevertheless. Focus is more on being in winning positions / consistency.
A slide went up of the debutants for this year. Sam talked up Mass as a quality person and the surprise of Calsher coming on so quickly.
Players interviewed very briefly on stage were Sic, Newk, Worps and Gunner. Laughs from the attendees when someone asked about how we'd fit Bailey Smith into the midfield. I think Newk chuckled and said something along the lines of "we'll find a way".
Worps mentioned that all players have a long list of things they've been working on but as far as him personally, he mentioned his kicking in particular. Gunners joked that he enjoyed his 'year holiday'. Sic mentioned the boys would have been happy to keep going without the bye.
AFLW women were next up - thought new coach Dan Webster spoke very well.
Canapes were not up to standard of previous years.
Isn’t he still in GreeceSmith seen looking at properties in Geelong apparently according to the fox show
logan mcdonald?I know for a fact that Sam was in Sydney today meeting a player. Not sure who, but my Aunty who used to work for the club, ran into him and chatted for a while. Wouldn’t divulge who the player was though. Just said doing some recruiting.
logan mcdonald?
Crete is a little suburb near Moggs CreekIsn’t he still in Greece
The spirit it's intended in this case is a claim of absolute certainty. If you’ve been around the board a while mate, you’d know that any mail should be taken in the spirit it’s intended by those that go out of their way to post it.
Don’t be another that shoots the messenger and ultimately ruins it for everyone else.
I for one enjoy the rollercoaster.
If that's the case, than TD sounds like he has "solid mail" from Hawthorn. From an outside observer, the McKay situation made perfect sense.
He visited Hawthorn one day, was impressed and verbally indicated an intention to chooses us.
TD heard / knew of this and let us know.
Then Dodoro or his manager talked him into choosing Essendon.
It happens.
