were going to have issues next year
one first round pick and 4 main list spots and 2 rookie spots available post my projected retirements and delistings

we will have F1 and a bunch of spuds being picked up with 4th and 5th rounders. unlikely to get any free agents to take these spots.

it was really dumb not to smooth this out and cut another one or two this year and have some more picks this year to reduce next years changes.

This talk about Oliver willing to take a pay cut ... how does that work?

Can a player just burn his current deal and start again? Does that not influence the existing club's future cap in any way?

Seems like a thin-edge of the wedge to me - is this a different version of Daniher re-doing his contract after the compensation pick is paid?

Hint

The way clubs are prepared to trade out of next year's draft to get into this year's would seem to be a good indicator they don't see the 2025 draft as being particularly good.

Picks in this draft are obviously at a premium, good luck trying to procure them now or even earlier.

Unfortunately you can't have your cake and eat it too if you want to bring in proven players.

Well next year is the first year you can trade multiple year picks so getting back into next years draft will be a lot easier. But it does appear this is a generational type draft year where you dont see this depth in talent very often. Just be thankful it wasnt in Tasmanias time.

Brisbane pair midfielder Dev Robertson and elite endurance runner Harry Sharp have told Brisna they'd like to be trafed, seems Harry Sharp has Melbourne interest given he's named his preferred destination.

Can't see them not getting to their preferred clubs given Brisbane will want points for Ashcroft and Marshall. Probably both good gets for their new clubs given they'll likely go for less than they're worth.
