Surely we will use all 3 picks, at the very least it would help our reserves players by reducing the amount of top ups in the team.

We should have plenty of spare cash to use.

So I fully expect us to pass on all three - that's how we roll.
My money is on 1 pick

We hear this tired line every time a solid looking kid comes through. Funny timing given Hawkins just broke the Geelong games record; was all people could talk about in his draft year.
It's a fair question to ask though. There have been plenty of big kids who struggled against adults - Will Gould comes to mind.
Talent is talent though. Sometimes the talent is enough and they adapt to the bigger opponents with no problems. The trick is to see if they are having their success at underage because of their size, or is it because of their talent?

Isn't it a lot to do with leg speed. If they can't break away for easier possessions, all of them are in a world of hurt at AFL level. How Fog has stayed relevant is a great testimony to his character. He's a gem.

Fogarty isn't slow in the first 20m and is very agile, this is the same with Welsh but he also doesn't mind crashing the pack whereas Fogarty is more a leading forward.

Will Gould's big problem was his lack of athleticism and height to play Key position, Tyler has athleticism and speed in spades to play the Jake Stringer type forward role..

Because North need another midfielder.
For starters Geordie played as a dashing running medium defender for the Devils coming through the pathway and it's only this season he's been switched to a midfielder role that also entails lot of time spent in the forward half. He's not just a midfielder he can play multiple roles with his versatility...he's a genuine Utility.

I look forward to a day where Fog is leading to a midfield mix predominantly made up of Soligo, Dawson, Rankine, Rachele, Schoenberg and even guys like Taylor.

I.e. Mids who actually kick to the forwards advantage side.

Along with your good points he was always too blocky - but the point being made was that overgrown kids who dominate/do ok in lower levels struggle when they join the adult comps

Daniel Rich and Brad Ebert come to mind. Rich was touted as a ready made footballer due to his size and Brad was preferred by most SA pundits over Dangerfield because ) not only school) but Ebert was touted to be ready to play - and he played 15 games in his first year

So at most 2 picks. Do we need to complete paperwork today for a player to go on the inactive list?
I imagine with Sloane retired he'd already be on the inactive list.

No idea on the timing of Parnell and Milera - may have already been done and they simply haven't published it?

So really there's only 10 players we think are worth it, may get one of them I wonder if at the 2nd pick if there's no one on our board if we'll pass or call out Toby Murray. I wonder if we see a future for him at the club.

Sounds like we have 10 players we rate. Picking at number 7 means we will get one of them. Unlikely another of the 10 make it through to us for a second pick, but it's possible.
Also sounds like we will have 3 slots available in case of a miracle.

So 1 pick. Hmm.

Is it straight to Toby Murray? Is McLennan an option? A need?
