happily swap murphy for kennedyMatt Kennedy told to gauge the trade market by the Blues
I’d have a level of interest there, he’s no star and not speedy, but he’d be a decent upgrade on Berry as an inside mid piece
That said, we probably moreso need to look at developing a star
Versatile, good clearance winner in the middle, wins the ball (unlike Berry). Carlton supporters seem to like him in general, too. I wouldn't be against himHe's be a bigger whipping boy than ned
Richmond or Collingwood I reckon.Matt Kennedy told to gauge the trade market by the Blues

Yeah I can see it. Both need depthRichmond or Collingwood I reckon.
Decent player but we probably should just keep investing games into Dowling instead.Versatile, good clearance winner in the middle, wins the ball (unlike Berry). Carlton supporters seem to like him in general, too. I wouldn't be against him
His biggest issue is he's a similar type to what they've got.Yeah I can see it. Both need depth
Probably the best idea, hopefully he can go past Berry in the selection pecking order next year (IMO he's very close already), looks like he can end up a big game playerDecent player but we probably should just keep investing games into Dowling instead.
I don't think we have too many pure clearance winners in our mid rotation, at the moment. Reckon you need at least two quality players that are clearance-winners as part of a five-man midfield rotationHis biggest issue is he's a similar type to what they've got.
I wouldn't be against him if it were as a depth option and for a throwaway pick, but doubt he'd move for that.
I'd rather see Dowling, Edwards and Pick 4 get some games in there instead
The only possible explanationcorruption
Sounds like the sort of arrangement that would cost a club like us a gazillion draft picks in sanctions...Reckon that all has to do with Gary Ablett Jr. and GC are still paying for him going to GC in 2011.
Geelong probably would have won another 2-3 flags with him in the team. They were close in 2012-2014 with top 2-3 positions in 2013 and 2014.

I don’t think we need more role players in our midfield. It’s why I was meh on retaining Berry. People confuse our midfield quality issue with a quantity issue. We actually have decent midfield depth, just need a couple guns (one if Izak becomes full time) to lead the way.Matt Kennedy told to gauge the trade market by the Blues

I get it, which is why he wouldn’t be a priority get for me at all, but he’d be an upgrade on Berry and someone who could be effective for us IMOI don’t think we need more role players in our midfield. One game sample size.Watched Cumming last night. Good pressure, but another fumbler who misses clutch goals. We do not need more of these players.
Are folks arguing we could have gotten Bowes? My recollection was we enquired about Bowes deal and he had no interest in coming to us? But that may be false memories as I can't find any articles on the topic.
After the AFL manufactured a free first rounder as Motlop compo for GC to give them so they lost nothing.
Did you watch Show Me The Money on Stan?He said we were really keen, but Geelong made him feel like they really wanted him, rather than the draft pick attached to him.
Same as vast majority of VIC lads returning from an interstate team, they don’t want to come to ADL and I can’t ever remember ANY VIC player who was first round, let alone elite, joining an SA team after an initial 2-4 year contract. That’s with 50+ collective years of history with Port Power. The fast is it’s a massive structural disadvantage that can’t be overcome with non SA players not wanting to move to ADLAre folks arguing we could have gotten Bowes?
He was never interested in us at all. Wasn't even remotely on the table.

It happens very rarely as you suggested. Lynch wasn't elite when he came to us in 2011....Tom Lynch?
Drafted from Sandringham Dragons with pick #13. Played 3 seasons with St Kilda. Agreed to be traded to Adelaide, and played there for the next 10 years.
He was stuck behind Reiwoldt and Kosi in his time at St Kilda, which is why he wanted out - for greater opportunities.
Agreed - but that wasn't the primary criteria 119others specified:It happens very rarely as you suggested. Lynch wasn't elite when he came to us in 2011....
