yep definitely he was one but clearly a marginal player not getting games at Saints behind champs as you pointed out. look there probably are some examples but the fact we need to rack our brains to come up with 1-2 in the last 15 years is really the substance of my argument. and that is its not commonTom Lynch?
Drafted from Sandringham Dragons with pick #13. Played 3 seasons with St Kilda. Agreed to be traded to Adelaide, and played there for the next 10 years.
He was stuck behind Reiwoldt and Kosi in his time at St Kilda, which is why he wanted out - for greater opportunities.
You can delist a contracted player and put them on the rookie list. We did that last year with Hamill.Apologies if I'm late to the party on this, I took a bit of a hiatus from BF. Just trying to ascertain I have the state of play correct.
We have 34 primary list contracts, and 4 rookie list contracts (including Gallagher as Cat B) leaving us a maximum of 4 more primary list spots.
At the draft, we have to add at least 3 more players to the primary list (even if it is from rookie upgrades).
So we only have one free spot for the likes of Cumming, ANB and Luko. Is that correct?
I presume we want at least Pick 4 and Welsh to be added to the primary list.
I know we can delist an out of contract player and take them back in the rookie draft, but I don't think we can move a contracted player to the rookie list, yes?
Have any contracted players put their hand up to be traded out?
We can move a contracted player to rookie list but currently only have 1 spot on rookie list as T.Muzz needs to be added to the 4 and we have given Borlase & Keane contracts. We could of course promote one of them but it defeats the purpose. Might depend if Welsh can drop to rookie list?Apologies if I'm late to the party on this, I took a bit of a hiatus from BF. That would be a perfect result for us. Doubt it happens, we probably need to be prepared for him to be taken in ND anyway which may mean we pick him late as we have no rookie spots leftIts possible he does TBH.
Had a poor SANFL year, poor U18 Champs..... he's a big work in progress type.
I think we pick him in the ND as late as possible. That would be a perfect result for us. Doubt it happens, we probably need to be prepared for him to be taken in ND anyway which may mean we pick him late as we have no rookie spots left
If we have to match a bid in the 20s i dont think we'll bother. Here is my predictions for the off season moves:
ANB - will over pay for him like the idiots we are.
Cumming - will get as a free agent. Good work.
Luko - Will sign with Port. They have the old fake tough man retiring and Marshall questionable. Will go hard for him.
Will keep pick 4, draft a mid and then play him in the SANFL on the wing for as long as possible before finally picking him and playing him as a forward pocket.
Will get Walsh for points as a bid in the late 20's.
Nothing else will happen. No other players.
yes we will because it will just be points - picks in 40s added upIf we have to match a bid in the 20s i dont think we'll bother.
I reckon that would be way above where he'd be in our talent list.yes we will because it will just be points - picks in 40s added up
Something I saw the other day had him around pick 50I reckon that would be way above where he'd be in our talent list.
And most clubs for that matter.
thats talent order not where a bid will comeSomething I saw the other day had him around pick 50
I dont think a bid will come inside 30.thats talent order not where a bid will come
about there -30ishI dont think a bid will come inside 30.
There is no chance a big is coming in 20 picks early for him. it'll be 40+about there -30ish
Unlikelyabout there -30ish
Noabout there -30ish
lets see smarty
Visentini (but Port won't let him go).Are there any second string ruckman out there that should a number 1 ruckman that is better than ROB? if so who and if there is we should go and get him!
Id have said Ned Moyle too, before he signed an extensionVisentini (but Port won't let him go).
Peter Ladhams (loose canon but has natural ability and would put selection pressure on ROB that he has never known from Strachan)
Nick BryanAre there any second string ruckman out there that should a number 1 ruckman that is better than ROB? if so who and if there is we should go and get him!
