Would be interesting to see some stats on these movements. Whilst it seems like we don't get our fair share, with Adelaide location claimed as an inherent disadvantage, the smaller number of movements are shared between only 2 clubs. Same with other interstate sides. So whilst the larger number of movements are players to Victoria, there are 10 clubs that share in those players.
Yes good point and Scorpus provided something like this a few weeks ago which effectively did show SA stacked up well on total returning players divided by available clubs. The issues are perhaps:

(1) we get very few “early stage” returning players that are quality. JHF an absolute exception and even Rankine was relatively early at 4 years. Most seem to be later on or FA’s

(2) within the 10 VIC teams there seems to realistically be only half that get such players - Geelong who are massivley over represented for A grade and first round talent. Add Bailey Smith to Danger to JC and the 4 x first rounders they got the same year they won the flag 2 years ago, Pies, Blues, Tigers and Dons. Basically nothing decent to Kangas, limited scraps to Saints and Bullies and even Hawks when they are successful. Dees got May and Lever over 2 years and not much else in the last decade IIRC.

So its more comparing us to the really successful clubs - and seeing the net movement of quality youngsters that I feel we have been massively disadvantaged the last 10-15 years:

IN - Rankine and Dawson - both absolute quality and AA level
OUT - CC (best small forward since losing him), Gunston (best mid forward since losing him), Danger (Brownlow following year), Lever (best third tall in league), Bock (AA back), Davis (GWS captain), MM (quality but underperforming backman) plus lots more

If we have to match a bid in the 20s i dont think we'll bother.

Of course we will. We didn’t ask for Welsh to spend a year at the club to not pick him
And for those suggesting how bad his year has been - played 1 game in U 18 ‘s from memory for WWT and kicked 8 goals?
Wasn’t the focal point at champs or for Crows and has gone beautifully under the radar. Has AFL attributes - but probably a little like Fog in that he will need to build his power a bit more before impacting
But will be an AFL player and will 100% be on our list

He'll be on our list but a bid in the 20s will test just how much we want him

rowey now crapping on re Luko:

60% chance stays GC
30-35% MLB clubs to play at The G
3% Crows

etc

just guessing and agree he has no idea
Well he's got the first bit right.

No clubs will want to pay a first rounder for a guy who the Suns don't want.

The lack of pressure on Adam Kelly is criminal. He's the head of arguably the worst football department in the league. He never should have been appointed after the disaster that was Burton.

Spend the money and get someone experienced you morons.

I genuinely think that the average fan forgets that he exists (and so do some of the media), so he completely flies under the radar.

3% what even is that in this context 😂
what percent was port?

i get the feeling rankine and lukosius are quite competitive with each other. and luko has lost so far. thinks going to melb to play at the G will get him one back.

as for port, if he is really good mates with rozzee he probably doesnt want him to be his captain.

If we delist Hamill over a cooked Smith, our list management are clueless!
