We might be after GC's pick 51. Otherwise it's hard to see the pointWe traded pick 58 for picks 60 66
58 = 170 points
60 + 66 = 226 points (equivalent of pick 54)
Our picks are 52, 55, 60, 66 = 679 points
Not sure if it helps us get up the draft board but that is the info we have.
55 - Young Key ForwardWe might be after GC's pick 51. Otherwise it's hard to see the point
Not sure we can do that but I like it a lot55 - Young Key Forward
56 - Young Key Defender
60 - Pass - Tomlinson
66 - Pass - Jack Hayes
Perfect.
If we don’t use it to package some picks to trade up then it suggests that maybe we are considering taking 4 players in the draftWe might be after GC's pick 51. Otherwise it's hard to see the point

It suggests to me that we also plan to move 52 & 55 for a pick in the 40’s. No idea who with or when though. We can't take 4 picks into the draft.
I think it's part one of a deal with Brisbane for pick 49. Only way I can see it making sense. It suggests to me that we also plan to move 52 & 55 for a pick in the 40’s. No idea who with or when though.

We have a bigger picture in mind. Who knows what it is. Most importantly, they do. Have faith. So why have 4 Picks Then?

They get a slight points increase because they couldn't take both picks into the draft, so they've moved up to 58. We've actually traded our pick down, because we can only take one of them in to the draft.
After matching Ashcroft they'll trade 49 for two of our picks to further increase their points.
Unfortunately, they'll probably have an opportunity to jump back ahead of us if they really want to.Getting pick 49 would allow us to slide one pick in front of Port, if we were hypothetically after a South Australian player we were worried they might take.
Edit. Ah, I didn't realise you said the same thing in the other thread.
Pick 49 should drop to around 42 to 44I think it's part one of a deal with Brisbane for pick 49. Only way I can see it making sense.

With all the pick matching they've worked out that 66 becomes 58 - the Brownlow pick. What was up with that weirdo pick swap with Brisbane? Don’t we want another brownlow medalist??!
Isn't Couch's body supposed to be cooked? Are picks draftable in the Rookie draft?
Any way we could move ahead of St Kilda, for example, to snag Brad Crouch?
I realise it would be unforgivably bad form... but we could always offer them AJ and/or Oleg in recompense
Makes sense, hope he’s a Swanny type tooWith all the pick matching they've worked out that 66 becomes 58 - the Brownlow pick.
You would find history suggests that NGA and even father/sons often go later than most expect. I think only Jamara (at pick 1) was held to account. Even your own Nick Daicos was quite easily in the top 2 players of his draft year went at 4 despite every tom, dick, harry and the pool cleaners dog knowing full well you would match. If essendons bid comes after pick 11, they can get away with not having to use picks 28 and 31.
Hopefully someone like north can force essendon to burn through all their picks. They have absolutely no reason to do it as they won't gain anything from it, it would just be to see essendon use up all their draft capital.
edit: well north have pick 62, if they force brisbane, gc and essendon to burn through their entire draft capital, norths pick 62 should come in a fair bit. Not sure they would do it, but they have something to gain, even if that something is as small as a pick shift into the mid to late 3rd round.
Agree. In a draft that is supposedly deep, the cost of sliding down few picks for eliminating a whole lot of picks is surely worth considering. You would find history suggests that NGA and even father/sons often go later than most expect. Kako has been projected to be a mid teens selections, missed a big patch at the back end of the year and has somehow grown in nature. Blows my mind.
Apart from the "**** Essendon" argument, there is genuinely no feasible explanation why clubs are bidding on Kako inside 10
