I haven't disputed that he has been spoken about as a number 1 pick. Also haven't denied that he has been spoken about as a 6-10 pick.

You are just making my point for me. It's all subjective.
So your point is you have no point... and you just don't like Jaga so you're just weirded out that everyone isn't frothing over FOS who has been injured all year and has clear limitations or Lalor who is also injured, who is unlikely to be available to us and who also isn't really a ready made midfielder - which is what we need and what Austin has said we are targeting?

Bizarre

I do have a point but you clearly haven't comprehended it for the second, third, maybe even fifth time that I have explained it that I cannot bother explaining it again.

I'm neutral on Jagga. Indifferent. Sounds more like you have a problem with FOS and Lalor which I find more bizarre given they are clearly the best 2 players in the draft.

There's no problem with either they are touted to go one and two, considering we have pick three how do you suggest we acquire them if they are already gone. 😕

Good question.

Lalor will most likely be gone first so that would just leave FOS. I think who goes second will depend on club.

If Richmond get that pick, then FOS may be gone. If North keep their pick, more chance of them choosing Tauru than FOS in my opinion. I would not be shocked if they go for Tauru even at Pick 2.

It's just a waiting game, if FOS is still there at our pick we'll take him imo.

Depends on your interpretation.

"Carlton has their eyes on pacy draft prospect Finn O'Sullivan" <- To quote various news article including the Herald Sun. That doesn't sound like an assumption to me. That sounds more like a statement of fact rather than assumption.
Statement of fact would be from Austin & Co declaring CFC is solely eyeing FOS for our pick upgrade to #3. HUN ran with this from the get go with the Walsh connection highlighted.

Don’t believe any such uttering has come from our LM team, if you can point out where any names have been raised for our specific draft pick target. That would be a statement of fact, not a journalist/newspapers thoughts on our perceived list management drafting strategy.

Two weeks to go and we’re all up to speed on each player’s strengths and weaknesses, is it time to cull the poll down to who we think the club will take at our 1st pick?

Some good players listed below but can’t see how any of them would be considered at pick 3.

can anyone give an appraisal of FOS attitude towards professionalism in his approach to football.
He comes across (to me) as too flippant about it. The I am good so why do I have to put in type.

Hope that I am totally wrong but I have seen too many kids that are good at something but are not professional enough to put in the hard work to be better.

Nothing I have seen suggests any level of
unproffesionalism.

That said, he is not at the Jagga level who seems the ultimate professional.

Jagga comes across like Crippa and Walsh in his prep

Seems to me the club will have this philosophy:
* If FOS is available we will select him.
He simply has too much upside to ignore.
* If FOS is not available we will select Jagga.
A Zac Butters type who has amazing ball winning ability and high IQ that translates to being able to weave out of trouble in congestion. He has a bit of Sam Mitchell about him the way he gets out of trouble in traffic. Also seems an ultimate pro and mature so you know he will get the best out of himself.

The only spanner in the works would be if Lalor is somehow available but that's extremely unlikely.

Don't think we will take Draper. The talents around him are just as good (better IMO) and are local so no go home risk. Think we'd even lean Langford over Draper for his ability to go forward, his beautiful disposal by foot, and his score assists in the front half. We clearly lack that damaging mid/fwd type. That being said, firmly believe we will go FOS or Jagga. It's a pretty simple equation for us and a beautiful spot to be in to be able to sit back and see what gets through to us.

I believe it will be Finn or Jagga that we select … however the only chance in my opinion that Lalor will be available at pick 3 is if the Tigers don’t get pick 2 and they are believed to really love FOS that they don’t want to miss the chance to draft his talent so they take him at pick 1 and North select Tauru at pick 2 leaving Lalor available at pick 3 but I think that’s highly unlikely and the Tigers take him pick 1

For what it’s worth, Cal Twomey’s latest phantom draft has something similar to that panning out

They are all “good kids” until proven otherwise. Looking from afar, we have no chance of a realistic comparison between them. I have opinions based on observation and small pieces of information gleaned over years, not just the last week.

I feel more researched than most on here, but would not seek to vehemently foisted my opinion on anyone else. Some of the assertions both positive and negative on the kids are very hard to read.

There are still half a dozen or more who would not be out of place at no. 1. Lalor is a decent player, but would not be a “universally accepted” no. 1 if Richmond were not touted to be taking the perceived Dusty clone at no. 1. Realistically he could be still be being spoken about as six or seven in order. So many have forgiven FOS an ordinary 2024 campaign with just a few cameos based off his 2023 showings, yet plenty here want to dismiss Draper who was equally as impressive in 2023 and finished the season off with great stats against men, based on his compromised carnival. Why denigrate Draper? Simply to push a hastily obtained opinion of someone else, we must lower the boom on Draper.

Then we read suggestions that Smith should be disregarded because he left school a year earlier and somehow that limits his perceived upside.

Bring on the draft so we can all support pick 3. I have a bracket of two with Draper and Smith, but open to at least a handful. It is still amazing how low the highly rated talls are predicted to go. I will go on record that I am far from convinced on Tauru, he remains potential for mine, may be a star in the making, but I wouldn’t have him top 10.

This is a deep draft, but I still maintain the top 8-10 is very subjective and far from obvious.
