l believe you are going to be disappointed we won't be trading pick 3Bad trade for us IMO, and I'd be taking Smillie instead of Draper. I'd be hoping to turn the trade into Smillie and Hotton, but waiting to see how it all shakes out in terms of where Hotton will be taken.
Currently anywhere between 9 and 20 you would think, but the later he projects, the more it opens up the chance we could turn 3 and 38 into 3 quality players.
If I were Carlton I'd absolutely trade out for Richmond's next pick and one of their 2 after that, should Smith be off the board. Even if it means picking between Draper and Langford.
That Pommy guy on YouTube made a point about Austin that in the past when he was at the Dogs and Tigers, that the players that were linked to go for their picks was a smokescreen to who Austin actually wanted so could this apply to us selecting Langford?Austin has said the club is looking for speed and run which suggests that Draper and FOS are in our sights.
But Langford is an interesting proposition - he would definitely lift the standard of forward entries to our key forwards with his penetrating kicks and generate more goal scoring opportunities for H and CC.
I wonder if Austin is welded to the idea that the player must have super sonic speed. If he thinks Langford is the next Bontempelli then I wouldn’t be surprised if he calls out Langfords name on Wed.
I can't believe it took this long.I can’t believe this thread has hit “I know more about draftees than you” territory.
The level of certainty that some posters have is astoundingI can’t believe this thread has hit “I know more about draftees than you” territory.
I am with Walshy HCJ. I watched the games that are being spoken of, back two years. I am an unabashed Draper fan and have always had him ahead of FOS as the two have been somewhat paralleling each other. Both had slowish returns from injury, but Draper built consistently until his stellar finish to the season against men.Geez you’re a bit sensitive pulling out the champ comment. But that’s cool.
It’s not rude that I think seeing Draper play live isn’t the same as YouTube clips. I’d say it’s a fair comment.
You don’t like when people don’t view Draper the same as you and you’ve made your point known on plenty of occasions. We all know who you prefer and I have no issue with that nor do I want to change your mind.
My views are my views and from my time seeing him play, again, I don’t think he is a pick 3. Would I be upset if we took him, no, but I’d hope we don’t
Will be very interesting revisiting this thread in 2-3 years’ timeThe level of certainty that some posters have is astounding

How does Smillie help us, we have Cripps.
Or 6 years. Will be very interesting revisiting this thread in 2-3 years’ time
Thanks Sweetie!!!No need to worry Dirty, reckon Austin has done a magnificent job to get us up to three.
Now he is just eagerly waiting to see who drops to us. We should end up with one of Jagga or FOS imo.
Jagga might be the safer pick and I do really like him. FOS has the so called x-factor and star quality.
With Owies now gone, I think Finn could make an immediate impact. Mainly up forward, with some midfield minutes.
Motlop and Durdin have shown glimpses, but have been unlucky with injuries so far. FOS could easily play round one as a
small forward and if he has a good run could end up kicking 30 goals. Would provide a nice point of difference to Harry,
Charlie, Zac, Fog and Kemp/JSOS.
Of course Jagger would be great in our midfield, maybe allowing Walsh to play on a wing. Ollie looks good at half back.
Five days to go, bring it on.
Having read all of the posts so far I believe that we will pass on pick 3 as according to this thread all in contention have glaring weaknesses and limited redeeming features.I can’t believe this thread has hit “I know more about draftees than you” territory.

It’s in this video
Nah, we will downgrade to a pick in the 50s where all the true gems are.Having read all of the posts so far I believe that we will pass on pick 3 as according to this thread all in contention have glaring weaknesses and limited redeeming features.
Apparently we'll just straight move on to pick #38.
Some vague references. I believe we’veHave any of the ITK posters given us an idea of who we’re likely to take yet?
No issues with yours or anyone’s opinions. I do think it’s off the mark to be called champ or stating I’m rude. That shit is childish.I am with Walshy HCJ. I watched the games that are being spoken of, back two years. I am an unabashed Draper fan and have always had him ahead of FOS as the two have been somewhat paralleling each other. Both had slowish returns from injury, but Draper built consistently until his stellar finish to the season against men.
I just see him (in short) as the best extractor in the group, as well as the best defensively (Jagga in that discussion)
If not for concerns raised over his back, I would be “screaming his praises”. I will not knock the other boys as there are some real talents there but only have Sid and Jagga as genuine mids. The other three in this discussion are IMO hybrid types who perhaps enter the terminology of “strikers” a little more.
I find it difficult to understand strong negative comments on any of the group, particularly Draper.
People are listing preferences
For Carlton.
Draper (injury dependent)
Smith
Lalor (will be gone)
O’Sullivan (I relate to questions on commitment to work, easy enough for a kid to turn around)
Langford (love aspects, and we could use his skills, but that yard of pace lacking excludes him to joining our mix)
I agree with this. That Pommy guy on YouTube made a point about Austin that in the past when he was at the Dogs and Tigers, that the players that were linked to go for their picks was a smokescreen to who Austin actually wanted so could this apply to us selecting Langford?
The big one was Yazz on 12 October who had news of pick swap before anyone, and who said draft target 1 was Lalor, and then Finn O'Sullivan, but that club would be happy with either - plus lots of discussion internally.Have any of the ITK posters given us an idea of who we’re likely to take yet?
It is rude/condescending to insinuate that someone else's opinion on a player is based on youtube highlights.I do think it’s off the mark to be called champ or stating I’m rude.
