AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Vossy has met with all 5 candidates in the past weekApparently Voss has recently flown to Adelaide to speak with Draper.
Draper also the best athlete and pressure mid out of everyoneMy preference order excluding Lalor and Ashcroft:
1. Draper.
2. Smith.
3. Langford.
4. FOS.
I wouldn't even consider FOS at pick 3. I think he is the most likely to be the bust of the draft. He seems like a very laid back lad compared to the others who are ultimate professionals. He hasn't shown he can accumulate against under 18s and to be honest his highlights are very average.
I feel like a lot of people are just agreeing we should take him because everyone says he is good. Objectively when you watch him play he is a rung below the other contenders who have runs on the board. And I don't want excuses about his broken finger. I just think he is a talented kid without the intensity and drive compared to the others.
Draper had performed against men. He is the real deal.
If North retain 2, maybe. If they give it to Adelaide, no way.Perhaps the scenario is that Richmond don't take Lalor at 1 and then try to buy back in at 3.
Not sure how a general forward your would hope transitions to AFL mid is perfect for us?If Lalor is there at 3 we'd take him, he's the perfect fit for us.
As has been mentioned many times, even on this page, it wouldn't just be the one pick sent over by us, and perhaps it might be 3/4, 37/38, and our future 3rd (AFL approval required).Tigers aren’t offering that for pick 2 so it won’t be on the table
Still guessingMy preference order excluding Lalor and Ashcroft:
1. Draper.
2. Smith.
3. Langford.
4. FOS.

My word… that’s quite the character assessment of FOS, Foucault. My preference order excluding Lalor and Ashcroft:
1. Draper.
2. Smith.
3. Langford.
4. FOS.

If Adelaide get ahead and takes our prime target we may be more open to moving backIf North retain 2, maybe. If they give it to Adelaide, no way.
“Objectively he is a rung below” is a ridiculous statement. That’s pure opinion, it’s the opposite of objective. My preference order excluding Lalor and Ashcroft:
1. Draper.
2. Smith.
3. Langford.
4. FOS.

North offered 2 & F1 to Richmond for 6+11, which the Tiges knocked back.If Adelaide get ahead and takes our prime target we may be more open to moving back
Sure, but pick 3 was pie in the sky too.It would, but it’s a fantasy.
All the reports are that Richmond aren’t trading 6. If they put together even a half decent offer they’d already have 2 off North who would have a lower asking price than us.
6 and 11 was on the table from Richmond for Norths 2 AND F1.
There’s a 99% chance we pick at 3 (4 if Ashcroft bid), in the 1% we get persuaded to give it away it’ll be worth nowhere near that price
Am I the only one who doesn't really GAF about draftees playing round 1?One of those man boys who can play round one would be good
Would be nice if they play Grand Final day thoughAm I the only one who doesn't really GAF about draftees playing round 1?
I won't say no to some early form, but drafting is for long-term output (especially at the pointy end).
Do some trades if you're after a short-term fix.
And they call this entertainment.Only for the last 100 pages or so.
Nothing to see here.
Great pointRegarding pick 3, there seems to be a big focus from supporters on choosing a player that best compliments our current group.
While this will be a consideration of Austin's, I think he will be more focused on the finding the next player to build the club around. He'll pick the guy he sees as the best long-term fit. He's not going to not pick a player, because we have a 30-year-old doing a similar role.
That's where I have FOS slightly behind the others. I reckon he compliments what we have really well but not sure he is the guy you build your club around.

ExactlyDo some trades if you're after a short-term fix.
Smith and Draper look more like midfielders only, which could be a concern if they can’t take the next step
Lalor, FOS, Langford dual+ position players, which would normally be more of a preference

Listen here Ferris, our draftee is a lock for round one. He will actually be in our 23 every round next year.Am I the only one who doesn't really GAF about draftees playing round 1?
