Smith hey - I don’t know how to feel and it’s only Cal’s opinion

I would prefer North to reach for Tauru at #2 and then we’ll need to make a more difficult decision

Not a more difficult decision. They will have their rock solid list now. It will be good to see though who they really have at 2 (assuming Lalor is off the board) if North take Tauru

While Cal is well respected and has a great track record, this is one draft where he will struggle to get good intel. It is so even so clubs are not willing to give anything away. This thing could still go completely differently
I listened to an interview this morning and he basically confessed the same. This has been a very different draft and clubs have kept things much tighter.

He's usually very close, especially in the top 6-8 range, but by his own admission this yr is different

Tbh I think most yrs most fans can predict the top 5 or so, it tends to settle fairly clearly the rank of the top 5.

Am I the only one who isn't enthused by the prospect of O'Sullivan? He just doesn't really seem to have any x-factor IMO.

Feel like the upside with Smith and Draper is far higher.

Admittedly have only seen some basic highlights so could very well be getting this wrong... What am I missing here?

Go watch the highlights of him taking huge overhead marks & slotting every type of goal u would like to see.
FOS is likely to make any debate about what pick to take him seem silly in a few years.

Incredible mark for a midfielder, great evasiveness, booming kick. Has plenty of x-factor, it's everything else that could be a concern IMO.

Well, even though I was hopeful Lalor could slide, that seems more unlikely each day

Depending what happens to North's pick, we seem likely to select one of 3 draftees, in this order if available

FOS, Jagga, Draper

Still hopeful Langford is in the mix

Reading Cals summary of our picks, sounds like it’s a genuine 50/50 between Smith and Draper.

I’d have loved Langford personally, but am not mad at all with those 2 either. Great position to be in.

I know what you mean - to me FOS reminds me of a better Ollie Hollands.

I love Ollie but he could be described as workman-like.
