Where did you get Jagga’s weight from?
It was from an article on the AFL site from January 3rd 2024
Eye on the future: 10 draft prospects to watch in 2024…
By Callum Twomey…
All 10 players have height/weight
Sorry i don’t know how to upload these articles onto the forum site, else i would have…

Fair enough.
Just for the record I don't think "no" is any better and I only liked your response coz I love gifs.
Anyway, after further thought, with a name like Jagga, who needs a nickname.

To my eye, Jagga's kicking is very technically sound. Its not a god given weapon, its damage mainly comes from his ability to consistently make a good decision. He doesn't have it in him to use his kicking to create an opportunity, he just picks the right one when an option presents itself.
when he gets it everything slows down and opens up areas of the ground. he won't worry about the inside stuff because crippa Hewett will feed him it

No good inside info (have been told that if anyone claims it they're either truly ITK or are full of shit) but I would be absolutely floored if it's not Jagga or Draper at this point.

Both tick the most boxes for what we're looking for and I believe both are as close to round one ready as you would hope for.

I still prefer another player (Langford) but I don't believe he ticks the boxes we're looking for.

Blues taking Jagga Smith, Crows taking Langford. Draper sliding to the Saints at 8.

What a topsy turvy draft year this is.
Well well well, mostly shaking out exactly like I've seen it, but Twomey is still adamant that Adelaide will bite at Draper and Hotton will slide.

If North are only interested in FOS and Tauru, one has to wonder if we can coax Richmond into an almighty trade for pick 3? They take FOS, North blow a gasket and try to trade with Adelaide, Lalor is available at 3 - or what I assume will be pick 4 at that point - and we take Richmond's next two picks.

And if Allan is on the board at 12... could we coax GWS to give up their first two picks for that and our future picks? It'd be unusual, but I think the AFL would tick it off.

Smillie, Hotton, Hynes... still potentially gettable. Imagine.

While I don’t think this is at all going to happen I do want to point out that if North were to take Tarau then that does mean that we could trade down to Pick 6 from Richmond and still end up with the last to be picked out of Lalor, FOS, Draper, Smith and Langford. So if our list team did rank them pretty similar then they could accept a trade with Richmond for Pick 6 and whatever else the Tigers offer (more likely 18 and not 10 or 11). However I do believe they probably have a strong preference for one of those five and will be trying to get them.

Jagga coming into our midfield with Crippa, Walshy, Cez and Georgie and others rotating through like Blake, Ollie, Lijah, Doc, Ben Campo, Lord, Binnsy, Cinc - he won’t be the main guy and have to do all on his own like top picks we have had in the past. I believe he will make an immediate impact, bring something different that we don’t have and will really improve our midfield that will help our side!!
Underrated part of this. Whoever we lock gets out in an amazing position to grow without unreasonable burden.

Austin has talked a couple of times now about adding speed.
So if we isolate that, then to me it’s gotta be either smith or Draper.
What did Jagga test for the 20 min sprint?

Edit.
Jagga Smith, an Australian rules football player, ran a 20m sprint time of 3.038 seconds at the 2024 AFL Draft combine. He also completed a 2km time trial in 6:27 minutes.

I’m sold on Jagga, if he’s our selection :).

What we all want is fast transition from the source to a dynamic forward line.

He can win his own ball, most importantly evade brilliantly (in heavy traffic) and dispose to an outlier by hand or foot with precision.

He runs relentlessly, helping our transition forward & back - reaching as many contests as Sam Walsh.

This kid is bust-proof.

Is Smith quick? Worried our midfield is going to continue to be slow.
He’s quick by foot, most importantly is very quick of mind.

Looks to make great decisions with his evasion & disposal - buying time when there appears to be none.

This is how he breaks lines - Langford appears to have the same talent, albeit slightly slower by foot & stronger in the air.

Looks a mix between S.Walsh & E.Hollands to me - Pendlebury-esque ability to find time on the move & runs all day contest to contest.
