Mitchell actually getting the most out of these battlers, not much scream superstars yet (closest to a star is Sicily) but obviously building something since 2021. Been a slow build...

We will be battling out with the Hawks again within a season or two.
Still think having a big-headed flog like Mitchell as coach will prevent Hawthorn from going the next step. Just get the feeling that the mood would have a tinge of toxicity running through it any time things weren't going perfectly.

interstate sides do fking suck at the MCG

i wouldnt be against the idea of if you come 1st or 2nd on the ladder as an interstate side, you can nominate playing at the MCG as your home game (obviously optional) in the finals

big risk but big reward playing where you need to win it

I actually like this but no club will ever pull the trigger on it

You'd be pretty excited about their future if you were a Hawks fan, unlike say North or St Kilda or West Coast or Richmond.
I think Eagles have promised. But North, Saints & Tigers a long way off it. Other than last week the Eagles have been competitive.

I see problems at the Lions too. They have reasonable talent but are unable to put that into wins. I think some of their stars Ard ageing & their window is closing. The areas they are lacing are in Key Forwards. Joey is getting to the end & he & Hopwood are so inconsistent anyway. Cameron is in the final part of his career & their mids are overrated.
