I can't believe we signed Burgess to have him play SANFL. I think he will be on the bench at least.

Surely you can find room for our #6 in the best & Fairest... ;)

I know lisfranc injuries take quite some time, but 7 months?

That’s all kinds of worrisome if so

Does say it can take up to a year depending how bad it is. But it could be a case he is late to preseason so he will just be building his fitness up by the time the season starts.

Fogarty, Jones, McAsey(!!!), Berry, Rowe, Rachele, Soligo, Michalanney in recent years shows that isn’t really true

Well true. I was thinking more Thilthorpe style tall. We were also in full development mode when all those players debuted, other than Max who starred from the outset. Also never underestimate the power of PR. Nicks is in full lets make finals mode now so selection attitude changes. I still wouldnt put curtin down as a certainty based on how nicks rates talls.

I wouldn’t call Curtin ‘raw’, he’s already got some good size on his frame, plus showed good form at WAFL senior level this year. Definitely more than just a chance IMO, based on his talent and current production level

Thilthorpe played Sanfl if I recall. I dont think curtin is raw at all. Personally I think he will play r1. I am just not confident in Nicks to not over think it.

There is no difference whatsoever in how a side selects when they're trying to win now or in a deep rebuild. Every coach is trying to win every game.

Where they differ is in the off-season and how list management is treated. In a rebuild, lists tend to go backwards, especially early on.

Of course they want to win. But a deep rebuild means pumping games into youngsters. Where as now, we will see a more settled side. Thats all I am getting at.

TBH I'm probably more interested about how our midfield looks come round 1 2025. Starting to get a very interesting blend of potential mids in the club now.

Classy: Rachele, Soligo, Dawson, Taylor?
Workhorse: Laird, Crouch, Keays
Big body: Edwards, Dowling, Curtain?
Bull: Pedlar, Berry
Pacey: Jones
X Factor: Rankine

By years end it wouldn't surprise me to see several players really step up as serious full time mids. Compared to years gone by it just feels like there is a lot to work with this season. Even without Schoenberg.

I’d say a lock pending injuries

Just a matter of where he plays , likely 3rd tall defender and allow hinge to be very offensive

Would love to see them swing him into midfield in 2nd half !
