I just realised how solid the aints form has been, making a win on the weekend all the more impressive and a fantastic platform heading into September.
Yeah we’ve won 5 of our last 7, with an average winning margin of 39 points, and two of those 5 wins were against current and almost-certain-to-finish top 4 teams.

So we’re now playing about as well as we have since Lyon returned, and seem to have finally found the balance between attack and defence.

We’re still 2nd for points conceded, but have kicked 99 or more points in 4 of our last 5 games.

So our game is in really good order.

If we come to play and you win this, you’ll thoroughly deserve your spot on the grid. Last week was super-meritorious.

Hopefully it’s a good game, with no more injuries to either team. 👍

No Brad Hill is huge, but we'll still need to be 100% switched on to be a chance.

We usually struggle with Hill, membrey and King. Sinclair can be a handful.

Membrey will probably play like he is a chance to win the coleman
Anyone one know how close we were to actually landing him last trade period?
On gettable they said we tried but couldn’t get a deal done then said we aren’t interested in him this year

We were after membrey?

Must be so frustrating playing so well & getting it right when the season is shot & nothing to play for.

Not sure why injuries would matter to the saints, but nice post anyway. Some good wins recently from the saints, will be a tough one for us with all our outs.

Everyone is too distraught by injuries - the injuries don't matter. We can still field 23 players even if they haven't played AFL footy before, they're still in the team and have been training all year long already.

The boys will lift for a big game and to do Vossy proud, just like they did on the weekend. They know that finals is on the line, Vossy will give them the heads up before the game about what to do and who plays what role.

The Saints have been in pretty decent form since the bye and have just embarassed an in-form, top 4 team in Geelong.

They're hardly a pushover. In fact, given their form & our injuries they should be winning this.
Agree Paddy, no pushover indeed. I have no real expectations for us, in this game. Just want to see us take it on.

Looking forward to seeing our youngsters play with real excitement and light it up.

This may well not be enough, as we are returning from W.A. and our record at marvel this season is ordinary.

Aints should probably start favourites, should be a pretty close game.

Don't really rate the pussies, we beat them comfortably as well. Of course, we did have a much stronger team then.

If all the "tests" go our way, we can play McGovern, Durdin and Williams (Williams wasn't listed in the injury report update, so presumably it was just cramp) and welcome back Saad, Curnow and Fantasia. Very positive.
