So Port, if you break it down, ended up with a Dangerfield type trade for Houston, 13, 29 & Atkins (1st, 2nd and fringe player). They then essentially paid F1 for Lukosius, Richards and a few later pick upgrades.

HAHAHAHA
Except in the Dangerfield case, we were forced to trade because he was desperate to leave. Whereas they pushed Houston out the door!

Imagine if Perryman and Houston tear Port apart next year when they play Collingwood....

will ferrell omg GIF
Imagine Rat lining up against Houston 😍

This really smells like Port pushing out a contracted player and failing on two fronts
  1. Assumed they would get a free agent in to replace him, effectively banking the draft picks and getting a free acquisition in the same role. They failed to get the free agent
  2. Assuming Houston would attract big currency on the open market, but Houston chose the one club with the least available trade assets. So they failed to sell a contracted player for overs

Failed to get either of two free agents, swung and missed multiple times

So they rejected the deal last night, had an emergency board meeting, came back to the table and accepted the exact same deal.

Bet they look real tough now

Given the talk about North this morning, it sounds like Port desperately tried this morning to get North involved, but North told them it was too late.

Seems like they've then gone back to Collingwood and GC and accepted the deal that was on the table.

One was a top 3 midfield prospect with prime to come the other a hbf with about 3 years of prime left, hard to see the similarities!

the Rory Atkins thread on the Port board is right up there with the Legendary 2011 Bay thread about Port thrashing the Suns

Same name , different bloke

Edit this one is 191cm with blonde locks

The GC suns bloke was 180cm
I've watched a bit of him while keeping an eye on Kane McAuliffe, athletic X factor type forward, looks quick, maybe a bit of Fritsch about him?
