Petracca is arguably worth at the top end, three 1sts or two 1sts and a 2nd.

Will be interesting if the Dees let him go what they will accept for him.
Buckley said Carlton should give them Curnow and a first rounder, that he would do that deal as Carlton still would have McKay and DeKonning

He is, but he is also 29 next season and is coming off of injuries that could have ended his career (and worse). It would have to be a team in the window right now and one that also has the draft capital. Ironically, imagine him in that port side interchanging with JHF through the middle and up forward, probably premiership winning stuff. So lets hope they don't put their hat in the ring

Compare the Jezza trade:

“Greater Western Sydney's decision to match Geelong's offer to free agent Jeremy Cameron has paid off after the Cats reluctantly handed over three first round picks - 13, 15 and 20 - to secure the key forward. However, Geelong received two future second round picks as well as Cameron in the deal.”

It was three late firsts, with two second rounders coming back, which nearly cancel out one of them

You would think also that Petracca would go to a team thats on the up and that could afford his current contract at least, if not more.

It does if Melbourne don't want to trade him but reluctantly will given the offers they received in the trade.
It definitely means Melb would want more for him, but that just makes a trade less likely. Both sides need to agree on a price or there’s no deal.

But, if Melb decide they have to let him go because he’s checked out, that will reduce his value a lot, down to the level where a deal could be done.

He'll be 29 next year, if Melbourne can manage a top 5 pick and another 1st if they think they are gonna have to rebuild it may be worth getting the big contact off the books

Petracca leaving is gaining more legs, you would think Melbourne would just say No

No club that he would realistically want to play at has anything to offer Melbourne.
if Port are chasing 2 first for Houston, Petracca would be worth 5 first rounders.

But it comes amid reports from the Herald Sun that Petracca spoke to teammates about his future on Monday at the club.

Geelong are absolutely thinking about Petracca, they would be silly not too.

Hawthorn have already made a deal with Barass so their picks are gone.

The issue is Petracca's injury was serious, he may already be past his peak. A club would have to spend a lot just to get him and might only be 3 goodish years.

I reckon long 7 year contracts that take players to 34 or 33 years old and gonna die, both players and clubs are starting to regret them.

Surely Collingwood would be in the mix too.
