Despite having a new name, I am a previous poster that got slammed to share insight and rumours.

Most gossip is 3rd hand rumours that can't be confirmed as truth. However, I try to share a consolidated assumption of the pieces of information that come to the table to add to a discussion whilst we all await for off-season actual outcomes.

The list:
1. The AFC are looking to add maturity to our SANFL program to help development, I assume some desisted mature players.
2. The AFC highest priority is adding a top-level midfielder to the list, C.Oliver is a name I have heard is not just media spin.
4. There is interest in an Essendon young midfielder but Richmond in a better box seat but in general Essendon gets mentioned a fair bit (Unsure why).
5. Mark Keane 5 year deal on table

Latest Gettable episode reveals what we already know about Luko sweepstakes - everyone has NFI what Luko wants to do. Riley said both SA clubs seem themselves as a chance (Port for his relationship with Rozee, Crows from a financial perspective). Clubs in Victoria are also monitoring, but then said Pies have cooled interest.

What?

How can you be angry at the club prioritizing prime time games!?!?!? We should want to be a big club and play in big games against good teams.
Absolutely correct and why this year was so disappointing on many fronts. We had the chance on the national stage and we blew it. Meekly.

Away from Thu/Fri nights in 2025 but we are likely to get a very easy draw after ultimately ending up with the hardest draw 2 years in a row. Would be surprised if we didn’t get double up games against 2 of Tigers, Kangas and Weagles. Off Broadway but a big help trying to salvage Nicks job and make finals.

Ok, I was exaggerating when I said ‘fringe’. He’s a great get and will fit into the side well.

But he’s hardly a player that we take us from bottom 4 to top 4.

I will be happy when the trade gets done, it just can’t be the only trade we get done this off season.
There is not 1 player in the AFL that is taking us to top 4 next year.
We could get Bont or Daicos and that wouldnt happen.

What it does do is bring in a high quality player, a hard worker, someone who is rarely injured, someone who may have some ideas from a recently successful club and one that might kick a spud like Murphy from our 'best' 22 for a minimal cost.

We should be thankful for his situation.

If we challenged at all in the first half we would have won in a canter

The goal umpiring decision was an issue because we played like utter garbage when it mattered, the same as in almost every important game under Nicks
So what. Sydney played garbage for some of that game as well. Our shitty play is not somehow more worthy of punishment than theirs.

Fact is it should have been a goal and was a massive piece of institutional incompetence.

It's like asking for a pay rise that you deserve and instead of giving it to you straight away, they ask you to take a smaller incremental rise with a larger rise in a few years time. You agree and when it comes time to increase, they change their mind and want you on less. No sane person would agree to that if there's a contract in place, but perhaps these guys make so much money that money isn't a factor anymore?
Agreed. Luko likely has a net worth of 2-3m+ already IMO. Owning houses in SEQ and ADL in recent years when both markets have boomed. Apparently was on 700k ish from your 3 onwards and these guys get excellent financial advice along with the many sort of “deals” that we often speak about

If Luko loves living on the GC, loves the team, sees success coming in the short to medium term then why wouldn’t he forego 200-300k pa for a couple of years (half that after tax) at least until he hits FA at end of 2026

If you think for one second Gulden is playing for less money/advantageous financial position you'd have to be pretty naive. It's not simply what a club offers money-wise in the contract, we've never been able to compete with outside forces like shonky real estate arrangements e.g.
Not sure about that

It’s been well reported we offered 10 years @ 1.5m = 15m. The biggest contract offer in VFl/AFL history.

The security of that long term deal knowing you have 15m coming your way assuming you uphold contractual obligations would be impossible for Swans to offer him the same level of total security that our deal did. And he still said no.

immediately lodged protest over innacurate recording of the score. im not getting into an argument but lawyers can do amazing things.
The only way anyone is going to get that result overturned is if it was the last kick of the game.

Its no different to losing due to any other incorrect call, like Dawson getting a whack to the nose against Collingwood, or Draper lying on the footy this year.

do you know what happens everytime a club appeals a tribunal decision? this happens weekly and lawyers are crawling all over AFL house
but now they're doing it time an umpire make a wrong decision! what's to say a wrong decision in the 2nd qtr doesn't change the momentum of the game

Mark Keane 5 year deal is bad business
The rumours around Keane to COLL has always been about Contract negotiation .....always best to have a competing Club for your services

As it was, IIRC he only had a year remaining on his current Contract

He came back to Australia to secure his financial future ....can't blame his Manager for playing the game
