They don't care about the club getting fairly paid, what they care about is not being left hanging and the deal falling through because the acquiring club is trying to get them on the cheap. It's about ego not fairness.

Cal Twomey is usually bang in with his draft predictions. A month ago he had Draper ranked as the 7th best mid this year.
No idea why so many on here are saying he’ll go to WC at 3, none of us would have the slightest clue how it will pan out.

Sounds legit

It's not that players want the best deal for the club they're leaving.

They want a good enough deal that the trade happens smoothly and they don't get caught in the crossfire.

It's pure self interest, not weird benevolence for the club they're leaving.
