They’ll get him for a song in the end.
Gold Coast have pushed him out.
Gut feel says you’re right.

Still, there are a bunch of things we can’t know -1. Luko’s preferences (assume he’d prefer Port or GC) 2. Then there’s how much Port are prepared to pay (to gc and to luko) 3. Then there’s how much GC want him gone, and what terms (what picks they’d demand, how much if any of his contract they’d be prepared to pay if he goes).

Even if he’d prefer Port, you can see a situation where we can get a deal done which satisfied him and Gc and port can’t.

I know it hasn’t really kicked off yet but it’s difficult to imagine how we are going to get enough talent in the door to make a significant difference.

If our only additions are ANB and Cumming through FA and trading we won’t be playing finals again next season. That’ll be 8 freakin seasons!!

It’s getting very hard to give a shot about the club or AFL in general.
Meanwhile Brisbane keep shovelling in top 5 father son mids

His value is precisely what another club is willing to give up. But for what it's worth, I think that's underrating the best HBF in the comp who's smack bang in the middle of his peak.
Pick 7-10 IMO.

4 years at $900K for Lukosius (doubtful GCS will pay any of the $2M for 2 years) and 7 years at $850K for Perryman, even if Houston leave I doubt he is on $850K which is why Kane reported other Melbourne clubs are willing to offer him his value.
Luko wouldn't be on 900K at Port

That Bris trade would be fair, but I doubt that’s happening

I think Freo would take our F1 for 10, they’d take the chance on us not being good again. Realistically the floor for our first next year is 11-12 (first week exit)
They wouldn't take it if NM is offering theirs as well - or if they use it on Bolton, which I think seems very likely.

Our F1 is potentially going to be a ~Top 5 pick, we will most likely win 8-10 games again.

Not beyond the realms of possibility with a tough early draw, we choke badly and Nicks is sacked by mid season.
Yeah, or we start to win the close ones and have the season we should have had this year - one that had us 7th to 10th.

12 to 13 wins seems very achievable.

I'm not interested in constantly kicking things down the road.

I'm completely happy to trade F1. I just don't want to waste it.
they wont kick F1 (they might waste it) cos they know theyre all gonna be sacked if no finals next year

I don't like the email I received. Doesn't specify what my membership even is. Just says it will be taking out a certain amount next month. This was the first year I signed up, so I'm not happy that there isn't more information or an option to just opt out on the site. Have to call them.

Who's saying we didn't have soft cap this year?

We couldn't get coaches to the club. We lost one of our more senior coaches and couldn't replace him.
Surely no club is spending under the limit, especially one in our supposedly strong financial position

How are we supposed to be competitive if we aren't matching the spend of other teams?

It doesn't even have to be coaching. We could have hired staff into any area of the football department
