I think we forget how good Seb Ross was. I'm not saying he was a superstar or elite but he had some honestly great performances over the years and did some special things on the field. The fact he played over 200 games (top 10 for that draft year) as a pick 25 is a great effort. He averaged 30 disposals in 2017 and 2018 and was an AA squad member in 2017. B&F in 2017 and 2019.
He came into the club in some of our roughest years and stayed loyal throughout and 10+ year rebuild.
He's not a world beater and certainly had his limitations but we can't fault his efforts in a long career. If he gets a chance at another club I hope he can get on the park for a few more and best of luck to him for whatever the future may hold.

I hope so.

I really don't want to be starting a rumor that its worse than it is. Just always concerns me when I hear major cartilage damage

I share the same concerns, the fact that he had significant cartilage damage from the initial injury had already raised red flags. Then to have to return for a second surgery is even more concerning. Without fuctioning cartilage in the knee it could be the start of a slippery slope of the kid having a very short career. Lets hope the surgeons can extract some magic and get him going again - fingers crossed.

We dont have to remind everyone how important cartilage is to a healthy functioning knee and its one thing that medical science cant replace. Without cartilage he will end up with a knee like brad Crouch.

From the article...

"Riewoldt said his sons James, Will and Teddy, had got into baseball but he was intending to win them back over to footy and the Saints."
Baseball vs footy hmmmmm…..shouldn’t be much of a battle.
