Almost have to split pick 2 now
Well, after getting updates at work from my port supporter colleague, I'm happy we now have the experience and leadership to teach and help the kids but 25 for Caleb is a bit rich but thinking about it all the teams seemed to be acting a little crazy so it was pay it or walk away.

I guess we were always going to pay it, as for the "almost have to split pick 2 now", after that, there is no almost, we get a good deal and split it and trade in our future first but not for a crap pick, we've got our players on Will's whiteboard, where they are intended to go and what picks we will end up with is going to be so interesting, we might not know until the live draft gets underway.

Bartel is cool

Well technically in 2024:

Fisher - Better kicking efficiency
Fisher - Took more kicks on average per disposal.
Fisher - On average kicked it twice as far per kick at a better disposal efficiency
Fisher - Averaged slightly more clangers/turnovers per disposal.
Fisher - Higher AFL rating

Realistically though Daniel didn’t play the role fisher played in 2024.

As we are bringing in Daniel to be the no 1 distributor off half back, taking over from fisher, can you compare say Daniel in 2022 vs Fisher in 2024

That tells me he’s a solid upgrade on fisher. Especially surprising was the 1.1 running bounces vs 0.6. Overall metres gained was basically the same.

Agree pick 25 is more than we should have paid, but I’m certain we knew that and wanted him anyway.

They are after rapid improvement after all

I think it is understandable that he has reservations, he did give the club a C for the trade period and could have been a B-, he liked Parker but wasn't sure the others would have a lot of impact.

I think the other two raised some good points.

We will see, I think if we can get a good split of 2 and especially if we bring in future 1st from next year either before or during the draft then I think it has potential to being a great trade/draft for us, but I feel we need a lot more than just one kid from this draft pool, even if it comes at the expense of next year.
