Yes. Every excuse under the sun. Change of coaches. Developmental. This other guy wanted this player at our club. But not Rawling. He didn't want any of the players recruited to our club from other teams over the last 5 years. Cat Stephens? Nothing to do with him. Oh and those long contracts, well that was some other bozo at the club that made that happen. He is running at 100%. He has not made a mistake. Faultless. Poor Dude. Pity everybody else around him that has moved on has been incompetent. Gee he has had some bad luck. Because it aint his fault in the slightest that our club has finished bottom 2 for 5 years on end. Not of his doing. Did not play a part at all. :stern look
He's made one shit trade - ccj - and all the rest we either paid **** all for or got some benefit, like moving up in the draft from where our original picks ended up (ie Fisher and Cat Stephens).

I agree those long contracts are a problem. We should never have signed our only AA squad players over the last five years up to them. Especially with Rawling cos no doubt he'd get some fantastic deal if we traded them. Look at JHF.

Love this.

Can’t say Darling generates any excitement but it’s negligent to not give our players someone experienced to learn off.

They can fight to take the spot off him, and he can teach on and off the field. If they can’t take his spot then that’s on them.

I assume we’ll be doing the same in the midfield as well.
Agree . The guy is 3rd -4th Dan in Karate & an absolute fitness freak.
At least he can teach what it takes to get your body right at this level …

Contracts mean bigger all if you need to make change these days pretty much.

Matt Kennedy told by the Blues he can explore his options.

In the event that Parker doesn’t come I wouldn’t be against either Kennedy or Seb Ross as a defensively minded inside midfielder.
Do they have the leadership we need?

Dunno but I've noticed Kennedy milks the clock a lot on set shots.

I'll see myself out.

Sort of yes.
Players can break them at will.
But clubs rarely do. See polec
Collingwood seem to most frequently but they are definitely outliers. Polec iirc agreed to an early payout figure so its mot like he was really sacked.

I suspect it doesn't send good signals terminating contracts early so negotiations are really the only practical path forward. Its crazy we have additional spots and are still carrying so much dead wood.

If we were not so flush with duds in isolation i probably would view a darling acquisition like when we went with soup campbel.

Don’t worry about Kennedy he’s too slow. Lewis Young is the one we should be chasing hard. KPD and versatile

Lewis Young does not play like a KPD. Surprised he's 201cm. He gets monstered by key forwards in the contest.
