His VFL form and the simple fact that Sydney look like dumping him, despite not having any small forward depth.

His form has been hampered from injury and confidence. He’s been carrying an injury for some time which he has now had surgery to fix and is recovering nicely. Not sure what other rookie players would be able to break into Sydney’s forward line. It’s one of if not the best forward lines in the comp! Just needs to have a good preseason and more opportunity.

Houston would drop his output by 30-40% if he joined our current culture and team.
Just like Louge Corr Stephenson Stephens Fisher etc etc etc

Put any one of them in Sydney's side and they'd be talked up like Amartey McLean and 8 other run of the mill players who we think are superstars

It's insanity to repeat the same mistakes over the last 6 years

There is enough talent on the current list

Instead of the players posting shit on Instagram about and of season trips to Bali and Bulls cooking

Their is 15 of them who frankly need to grow the **** up and be professional footballers

Look at there fitness levels and body fat levels and fitness levels

Their is junior athletes and suburban footballers who are fitter and stronger than most of the players on our list.

They should be and hopefully they are out doing Fartlek running sessions and weights sessions in there so called break
You had four shots at 'there' and 'their,' and missed all of them. That makes me sad

Okay, if he has his excuses Sydney will re-sign him and he'll be fine. If they are happy to let him go cheap, well ...............

He was also the best defensive forward in his rookie class by some margin. A tackling machine. Not sure whether he's ever been much of a convincing goalsneak, but that's a second tier priority for us in a small forward, tbh. We need f50 pressure to be competitive.

The hesitation around here to spend proper capital on a bloke who will be one of the best 5 players on our list for the foreseeable future is unreal.
These kind of statements should come with a number. What does “proper capital” mean? Personally I’m comfortable with 12-18 (that will end up 16-25).

If we’re talking about a top 5 pick either this year or next, I want to aim for a top 5 player in the comp.

Food poisoning is their signature dish..
The Chicken Cheat in Wembley Downs was always nice. Rated them better than Red Rooter as their stuffing is tastier imo.

Must have gone downhill since I left.

Come to think of it, the Broome Chicken Cheat was as dodgy as ****. Very surprised that joint didn't do me over lol

Most years you don't even get one top 5 player in the comp with a top 5 draft pick.

I think your expectations might be skew-whiff mate.

If Clarko, Viney and Schnoz reckon an F1 with an F2 coming back for Houston is a good investment, I'll happily agree.

Tried the Merredin Chicken Treat.. the joint was about 100 years old and I don’t think they ever changed chip oil once. Extra crispy..

lol Northball wasn’t an actual thing mate. It was a throwaway line/joke that Georgie said over the summer, and the media and north plans clung onto it thinking it was going to change our fortunes. I’m certain it’s never been mentioned within the club.

If you don’t think the club is actively doing all of the things you’ve mentioned (spare ruck and small forward in MSD, recruiting Pink to fill a short term KPD gap, bringing in Steven’s and Fisher for run and carry, cutting Jed, Turner, etc) your not watching closely enough.
I am in favour of throwing darts in the MSD/SSP but we need to start investing quality picks in small forwards and key forwards.

Didn’t we take a bloke in the Mid Season draft to tackle?

Do we need two?

Phark me really?

There are roughly 10 drafts over the span of the players in the comp.

If you can get a top 50 player, even top 100, for 5-7 years, with known knowns about what they can bring - you take that over a speculative pick with where we are at.

We have enough speculative talent and a vacuum of quality experience.

Bring him in no doubt.

“Aiming for” the key phrase there.

What you’re suggesting (and let’s be generous) is pick 5 for Houston and pick 30 odd. No thanks - imo, of course.

You missed the point of the post there tiger. Give us a number. I understand the philosophy - put up a trade you’re comfortable with.
