I'm sure we have been putting the feelers out for plenty of players, but I've been told we are keeping a close eye on opportunities for delisted free agents. Particularly:

Ben Paton & Olli Hotton from St.Kilda
Josh Fahey from GWS
Grainger-Barras from Hawthorn
Riley Garcia from WB

Obviously, we may not end up targeting any of them, but it will be interesting to see how we weigh up our final few list spots, as someone like Lazzaro has had far better VFL form than any of the above-mentioned players.
Only have to look at last nights Dally M winner to know someone else’s trash can be another’s treasure.

Yes were making a big push.
But they are 100% the frontrunners.

To say they're not in the picture is wrong.
Hmmm... not from what I've heard.

The issue is trade specifics not who Houston prefers (although I've been told he is not fussed on destination contradicting Tom Morris). Carlton also don't have the trade capital and potentially are on a salary cap squeeze.

That leaves only us. It's either us or he stays at Port. Clarko and the list management are really keen on him. They've spoken to him outside of Clarko meeting with him.

Watch this space.

lol no we shouldnt. what if its the final day of the trade period and carlton havent presented a satisfactory offer but we have, which Port accepts and Dan says yes so he can get back to Vic? DO we just turn around and say 'thanks but no thanks because we set an arbitrary deadline'

it would be nothing more than pointless posturing that benefits us in no way
Then the deal changes in our benefit.

We’re easier to get a deal done with as we have greater trade capital to appease Port.
But knowing that Dan wants to get back to Melbourne at all costs, means we’re in the picture and that is why he met with Clarko.

Tom Morris’ tweet is correct. He’s telling his manager and Port that his preference is Carlton.

But I disagree. The options are not us or he stays at Port.
It’s either us or Carlton. And this is straight from the horse’s mouth.

As you have said its "his preference" but if his first preference is to get back to Victoria then coming to us might outweigh "his preference" and he comes home...

That trade looks great, but we would be much better off doing it by splitting pick 2. The issue is the number of players we have OOC next year - 15. Here they are.

LDU, Goater, Corr, Tucker, Ford, Bergman, Phillips, Pink, Stevo, CCJ + Rookies - K Dawson, Teakle, Maley, RHJ, Payne

When you look at that list, you know that we are going to be cutting hard. We could payout a couple this year (CCJ, Stevo), we will hopefully bring in a couple of quality free agents, but we are going to need some good picks to replace the others.
And why would someone split our pick this year in such an even draft?..

He won’t be living in Adelaide one way or another.
Staying at Port isn’t an option.

He does not want to come to North. If Carlton cannot get a deal done it is highly likely he stays at Port for another 12 months and revisits a trade in 12 months time.

Fk I love a good ITK-off
Houston wants to get to Carlton.
This is like Dragons Den right now.

It's gone from us meekly hoping for one offer to the ITKers walking over each other to offer up the best intel.

Freedom of information is the real winner here.

I am confused, I’m seeing four itks.

I feel that even if Houston does come to North (unlikely) his time with us will be undermined the whole time by Carlton and he'll end up where he wants to be anyway after a year or two. Sounds sort of familiar...
