Real going off in here today

ITK’s contradicting each other.
Guys wanting trades even before trade week starts
Just need some body language experts here to give us definitive answers to Houston’s wants

Dunno his reasons for retiring but he's 30 and coming off a 60 goal season...could have a couple good years left. I'd ask the question if I were Clarko.

Larkey and Daniher. Yes please

He wants to go live on his farm near Byron. If he wanted to.keep playing AFL he'd be doing so in Brisbane. Suspect Melbourne is the last place he'd want to be

Pfft, Instagram likes and following analysis is the real game changer.

Probably but not sure Crows do that. Maybe a three team deal where we get GC 12 or GWS 14.
Getting Peatling/ANB could change that. A quick burst mid that is good at everything is very much a need for Adelaide, and they aren't afraid to throw picks around if they have their man.

2, 22 for 4, f1, 42 could work also, although that 2nd rounder is gold in this draft.

When did I say give up pick 2?
When you said you would offer 6-8, how would you get 6-8 champ without giving up pick 2 and chump change.

You are basically saying you would hand over Harry George Zane or Colby for Housten and an of first round pick such as Hardemon or Dawson

Thats what your proposing.

Even then Port wouldn't accept they want two first rounders so then you have to dilute our first round next year with the same scenario

It's just mind numbingly stupid to go for Housten

The alternative is to keep pick 2 this year, LDU and 15 of his mates grow the **** up and be men, win 6-8 games next year and still finishing 14-16th.

Housten is fools gold

This ‘champ’ crap is getting a bit old. Give it a rest and just engage without it.

If a father of a son has played 100 games or more and the son is in any academy, he has the choice of sticking with the academy or going to the club where his father played, under father/son.

Which is the good one, again? I get the rules, they are the way they are to assist Northern Clubs/Eyeballs on the product. But they are not fair for us, I prefer rules that are fair for everyone! We are under no obligation to assist them and we shouldn't. I know as much as there is a good McCartney and a questionable one, we really should aim to get them both and get them a Premiership their dad missed out on!

Alright, well if I hold out and it’s not looking good. That’s about 4/4 ‘members q and a’ where we’ve been fed some garbage.
I get it after Luff's McGuinness comments but I rate Thursfield more higher than a champion data person who hasn't been involved in recruiting. Thursfield learnt under Hartley at Tigers so he'd know the small forwards at Tigers were important.

"Got a few guys on the list that can play that role" - RHJ, Payne and Curtis. Don't see a problem with this statement.
"Beautiful thing about this draft there's plenty of options, with that pick 22 and 40, there will be some guys in that range who can play that role... so we've got some options".
"You look at all the finals sides, they've got a fleet of them... pressure's the key... harass opposition half backs in transition... to build a little army of those would be nice".

Tells me they will be looking at someone (I'd guess Berry/Hannaford/Alger/Dattoli/Bradley etc.) in the draft.
Also, given we've spoken to Dalhaus that could be a rookie option. River Stevens perhaps as well.

So now we are giving up pick 2 and future pick 6-8 for Houston??

That escalated quickly.

The bullshit in this thread is outrageous.

That's what you and your let's get Housten mates are wanting.

Port want two first rounders. You entirely give up pick 2 this year to get two first rounders

Or you do it across two years and dilute 2 this year and what at best next year is 13-16 finish next year for a F2 back from another club.

Which other club other than Richmond or West Coast even with Housten in our side would you seriously expect to finish above in 2025. That's pick 3.

Name one club with Housten in our side we would finish above
Who
Adelaide
Gold Coast
Melbourne if they implode
Essendon

That's just ****ing stupid

Keep pick 2 and pick 2-4 next year

The whole player list lifts 15% to get the 4-8 wins with Goater or Hardemon in 'Houstens' role.

Chasing Housten is bullshit

Teams will only trade for 2 if they want a specific mid. Maybe one of the sa teams after Draper, Richmond wanting Smith and FOS, maybe GC wanting a player ahead of the Lombard bid, maybe someone else.
Exactly, so splitting it is going to be tough unless we get an offer we can’t refuse which will be highly unlikely, hence my reasons for not being fussed if our recruiters decide to use our future 1st in a trade or to get back into this years deep draft.

We can target Balta and/or Brayshaw as FA’s next year as our ‘first rounder’

Nah.
We need upgrades on our best 22 players as quick as possible

You're talking shit champ.

No one is saying to give up two firsts for Houston, only you. Just about every poster in here wants Houston for around pick 10ish, either by splitting or using our f1 with something back.

I couldn't give a rats tossbag what Poorta want. They can tweet as much as they want about what price 'they'll accept' but will end up getting around the above imo, as Dan wants out. Not many teams hold players to ransom if they are desperate to ve elsewhere...
