List Mgmt. 2024 Trade & List Management Thread - Part II

He plays a relatively 'clean' position and a position of more and more importance as dozens of scores are launched from HB these days.

We could very well get 6-8 elite years out of Houston with his resilience. Zorko just smashed a season and GF at 35, and Houston is a much better kick and defender than him imo.

Houston has hardly missed a game over his career.

6-8 elite years? 🤣

Here’s the list of that age group from now, for the entire comp.

List me the 2024 elite players please. And not on reputation.

You get 10 good players by adding one good player 10 times.

And Houston only having 2-3 good years left...LOL

Well he would need to be a statistical outlier, I.e the one or two exceptions in the entire completion, to mainin an elite level into his 30’s

There’s only probably 10 thousand examples of players hitting the decline at the 30.

He will no doubt still be more than handy, but we have an AA caliber player for around 2 seasons if we recruit him.

We will have a good AFL player from then on. I.E Goldstein Dal Santo etc

And for a downgrade of our first round pick a standard setter who will drive the LDU’s, the Scotts, the Larkeys, the Zurhaars, the Corrs, the Logues etc to really work their asses off.

Who’ll model who you are to be a two time All Australian to Sheez et al and played at a club that wins regularly.

In five years even if he isn’t elite he will have influenced the next crew like Hardeman, Chom.

That’s certainty for a downgrade when we are likely to take a Key Forward anyway with that pick equivalent.

So we won’t be actually giving up a player to get this benefit, just potentially missing getting yet another kid who may be 25 per cent better at pick say 10-15 for a Pick 2.

I can live with that.

They are in all sorts.

But the ouroboros of Trade Radio continues. They were the ones who created the Oliver story and went large with it. Got a good day of content out of it. Now they get to pour cold water on it. More engagement. Now if Melbourne do announce that they are keeping Oliver at the B&F, TR gets to say they're right, and if Melbourne doesn't do that, TR banks another two days of content. Magnificent media management.

Not sure I understand what the list represents, but of all of those I’d only be interested in Pendles and Zorko but only for the leadership they’d bring, not to be a top 5 player on our list. And, that’s what we are getting Parker for.

For me the conversation is whether you would prefer one, or maybe even two, first rounders or Houston, and from what we have seen we have a number of recent first rounders that will end up with Houston’s CV or better (2020 being the outlier)

Yes a perfect snapshot of the Trade eon cesspool..

It was in response to “6-8 years of elite football”

Houston would be on that list, if he’s even still in the system.

The chances of him playing 150 games for North would be about 30-1.

Was gonna say exactly this. Read a number of tweets saying things like “they have to trade him now” “this has caused so much damage” according to who? The media?
This is the biggest beat up you’ll ever see and it’s worked like a charm.

You dont know what you are getting with Petracca. His body has undergone significant trauma.
I'd pay them a F4 for their F1 to really see, if he breaks down there must be some sort of compo we're due? Surely.

That's what you and your let's get Housten mates are wanting.

Port want two first rounders. You entirely give up pick 2 this year to get two first rounders

Or you do it across two years and dilute 2 this year and what at best next year is 13-16 finish next year for a F2 back from another club.

Which other club other than Richmond or West Coast even with Housten in our side would you seriously expect to finish above in 2025. That's pick 3.

Name one club with Housten in our side we would finish above
Who
Adelaide
Gold Coast
Melbourne if they implode
Essendon

That's just ****ing stupid

Keep pick 2 and pick 2-4 next year

The whole player list lifts 15% to get the 4-8 wins with Goater or Hardemon in 'Houstens' role.

Chasing Housten is bullshit

Houston, is the city and Houston is the name. This is a great post, I just want you to correct it so you don't have some smart ass fan calling you out on what is an awesome post, we should sticky! Some genuinely learned supporters don't come close to understanding this, which blows my mind. What's being shit for another couple of years in the grand scheme of things? Nothing. The Joy of winning a few games dissipates pretty quickly when you get flogged in week 1 of the Finals. We are in a position to compete strongly for nearly a decade, no corners taken, just play it out... if we lose a few fans, we'll get more! We always do. I don't think we will in net terms.

Its all just Vezpremi - Urquhart shitposting but with a much bigger budget.

You’re not wrong but I tend to think they’re an absolute shambles right now, and have been for a fair while.

Gary Pert is making list management calls, what would we think if Jen Watt was doing that? They’ve got Brad Green as President ffs.

Curtis Taylor surprised he got delisted 😂

He seems a bit salty lmfao when he keeps bringing up the shock delisting
Not salty imo- desperate

Which other delisted blokes have gone into the studio to plead their case?

Seems like he hasn’t got any suitors or any clubs reaching out - and if that isn’t enough of a sign!
