Always listen to any offer. Never rule anything out until it is considered rationally and clinically. Business is business.

But I’m trying to fathom who has both the draft capital AND the need to trade for Jack Steele. Some clubs have one or the other, but who has both?

Unless Steele was part of a player swap. But again, it would need to be a deal too good to refuse.

Still, football can be unpredictable. You never know what is around the corner.
Melbourne if Oliver leaves

Gold Coast have literally lost to everyone away from home this year. The way we are playing (and the teams we play) we should realistically only be clear underdogs against Brisbane. I wouldn't be backing us to finish 14th just yet.

The real issue comes if we get to 12th and get that "middle six" fixture instead of the "bottom six" fixture.
If the suns lose to the eagles. They should blow the place up.

Carlton and Geelong plus both us and the eagles.

There are 2 games are tough.

They will need to win out to claim a top 4 spot.

Freo have something like
7 - linked to Collingwood
10 - linked to Port
14 - their own.

They may well offer 10 and 14 for 5

Depending if the picks blow out depending on where they finish

pick 6 for say 12 and 16

Scenario 1 Saints - 6, 10, 14
Scenario 1 - Freo - 5 & 7

Scenario 2 - Saints 5, 12 & 16
Scenario 2 - Freo - 6 & 7

Dont know if that would fly but seems a win win for both.

Freo a top 4 team have to high top ten picks

Saints wanting a lot of frdp's have a top 5 or 6 plus a couple of mid frdps

This year could be the draft to do that. Very even at the top. Gems littered throughout.

Remember PA did something similar in 2018 but it involved a trade with us involving Paddy Ryder and Dougal Howard.

Their pick 10 was traded to us for picks 12 and 18 (which we had acquired from GWS after splitting pick 6).

They ended up with picks 5, 12 and 18 which netted them Rozee, Butters and Duursma. Good business.

The key is to keep the earlier pick, which would also likely be pick 5. Split pick 6 into two other mid first round picks. That gives Dalrymple lots to play with in an even draft.

There is no indication Bontempelli wants to go or the Bulldogs want him to leave, but that might not stop other clubs enquiring.

See how easy it is to make up absolute tosh to fill minutes when you have no clue?

Brisbane looks the most inform of any of them right now. We look in better form than some of the top 8 sides. We might need to rest a few if we want to stay down.

I really like the Bulldogs. Looking strong. Building momentum.

No room for error but there is a bit of a feel of 2016 about them.

Nah, that was 2019 when we did dougal and paddy.

2018 they got the extra picks off Norf for polec and co

Gold Coast won’t lose to Richmond. And they will beat West Coast. Even away from home.

If we can turn pick 5, Battle, and a couple of junk picks into 4 first rounders (3 this year, 1 next year on top of the natural pick), would be silly not to entertain it, especially if Lalor can slide a bit.

Lalor, Travaglia, Hotton, Langford, Tom Gross plus a few talls all could be available

Yep just saw the form ladder (ladder since round 12) and we are sixth. Brisbane on top.

Didn't see that and was just on a vibe. Hawks and Dogs I image are high as well. Brisbane looked cooked at one stage, now they should probably be flag favourites. Blues, Sydney and Collingwood going the other way.

Dogs are playing really well. People give Bevo shit but he's brave, he constantly regenerates and builds on the fly and doesn't knee-jerk under pressure. It would be easier to play old guys and hang around top 8 and not be quite good enough for 10 years and earn his dollars as a premiership coach satisfied with his lot.

Brisbane may well be a bridge too far, but Richmond thereafter followed by Cats and Blues who are both looking a little shaky. I can see a world where we could win three from four.

Brisbane have to hit Melbourne in the coldest part of winter with an in form St Kilda full of confidence. I can see us knocking them off.

Under the roof though. Protected from the elements.

The chill still runs through the place. If you are used to 23 degree days it's pretty confronting environmental change.

Tomorrow's headline 'Steele traded for Bont'.

They won’t don’t spend anymore time thinking about it.

I think some one on here said that Callaghan has put off talks for an extension. He's got until the end of next year but it might be that he's not settled.

Once they warm up though it’s not really an issue.

It’s the equivalent of playing in dry and still conditions with a chill in the air. I doubt it will worry them.

If the game was played in the open then that could be a problem for them. But it’s also a problem for us. Our performance against Adelaide exposed us in the elements.

Remember playing them at a freezing cold Waverley when it hailed and the bastards beat us

Agreed.

I feel like a lot could go wrong splitting your single first rounder - pick 5.

But if we had both 5 & 6.

I could see the value of splitting 5 or 6 and grabbing 2 or 3 first rounders additional. (Better be 3 like the suns got )
