Are we good enough frank?
Our batting line-up is good now, but it still can be a bit flakey, particularly in tougher conditions.

Australian fans are also fairly scarred from that period in the mid-to-late part of the last decade when we got rolled for sub-150 scores with far more regularity than should ever be acceptable at the top level.

I would have thought before day one that no we arent good enough under cloudy skies but was strange innings as we survived the really tough stuff then messed it up later, broad is worry he got it wrong first time but he doesnt miss out often in these sorts of conditions but if he gets it right under lights and we struggle so be it just at least make them get it right this time no freebies.

Would take good Johnson over good Starc though
Yes, but I think the point is Starc deserves more credit, Johnson is rightly talked about as one of our greats, meanwhile Starc is constantly bashed.. Cops an awful lot of shit for being a very consistent wicket taker, yes he leaks runs but not everyone can be Glenn McGrath, we’re very lucky to have had him in our attack for so long.

Also worth mentioning that he has turned down a shit tonne of cash in the IPL to make sure he’s right to play for Australia.

Who left the door open, all the bed wetters are in here again. * off if you cant be positive
You said we'd lose 5-0 on day one of the first test when Australia were 3/67 on day 2. OF THE SERIES.

Here's a conspiracy theory for you all.

Bazball is a collaborative effort by the Australian and New Zealand family, our brothers from NZ could never hope to defeat England at home in morden times.

So they sent Baz to sabotage a desperate and aging English team.

FYI Highest successful chases at Lord's:

If the boys get 200+, you'd say it begins to get very much out of reach for a 4th innings chase.

That being said, with Bazball, and the overall runrate, we're pretty well ahead of timing being the 3rd day, so who knows if that puts it out of whack.

Still. 209 (and an overall 300), should be a very good total if history is to go by.

EDIT: That being said, the 3rd entry was by the current England side and were only 5 down, using Bazball. So who bloody knows.
Plenty of time left in the game. Would really like a 400+ run lead

We probably over rate johnson due to how watchable a bowler he was, his good was legendary sort of stuff but his bad was so bad and usually in humiliating series losses so we tend to just forget it ever happened while watching his great spells over and over i still watch his wickets from that 13/14 ashes before start of every ashes series.

The stats might say I'm wrong but it feels like he picks up key wickets but rarely runs through a side. His overall record is very good but he doesn't have a day too often where you feel like he's been all over the opposition and leads his team off the park. Not saying that's bad, just that it's why people don't look at him as impressive on face value despite his record.

I use to be more critical of him but when you accept he's basically never going to be consistent in a game but will produce a jaffa out of nowhere, regardless of conditions, you appreciate him more.

Things can go a bit wrong if one of our bowlers also isn't doing well as there will be a time in the game where control is lost at both ends. Overall though a very good bowler I'd have in that Brett Lee tier as a Test bowler.

Of course it's raining and will the shower the rest of the day on and off, just you know during the most important point of the series where two great sessions from Australia could seal it or alternatively a really poor one open up the serii to anyone's

Johnson will forever be fondly remembered for his insane peaks in the 2013/14 Ashes & 2014 South Africa series. Big performances like that live long in the memory.

Starc is a bowler of great deliveries and often pulls something out of his arse when we need it most. He's frustrating to watch a lot of the time because you know how good he can be.

Yep I think he unfairly cops flack. He has dedicated his career to representing his country and had done a bloody good job. He has had his ups and downs but overall has been an exceptional bowler. Massive respect

The great DK Lillee marked him as a once in a generation bowler as a teenager.

He certainly bowled some shite at times, but his best was pretty awesome.
