Crowds should be rowdy, it’s great for sport, no problems with England fans getting stuck in, we’d do the same.

The problem is when people who are given privileged access to the players that no other supporters are given, use that privilege to get in the face and abuse players.

Those members need to have their memberships revoked, and if the MCC aren’t willing to do that, then the ICC seriously needs to look at whether the long room can be allowed in future.

This might seem like overreacting, but that situation was not that far away from getting seriously ugly.
