Based on scores, it's nearly a re-take of the first test.

Slightly worried, particularly as tea comes & night falls. That said, you'd want to perform if an Aussie batsman, as we actually have one or two hitting form in the Shield. Konstas looked really good again today & even Henry Hunt is having a rich vein of form.

absolutely no excuse for not bowing 90
There’s plenty of excuses because there’s plenty of elements in the modern game that weren’t a problem ‘back in the day’

- DRS is the single biggest time waster in cricket. Each side now gets 3 unsuccessful reviews, which usually chew up 2-3 minutes at an absolute minimum. You also get the batting side reviewing plumb LBWs late in the innings ‘because we’ve got reviews left so might as well use them’.

- It is now mandatory for any batter that is struck on the head to have an on field check with the Physio, and have their helmet replaced.

- Every single delivery is now checked for front foot no balls, meaning more are being called and redelivered.

- Boundaries and catches close to the ground are now reviewable by the TV umpire, which is usually 2-3 minutes minimum as well.

- Bowling sides now can request umpires to inspect and change the ball, which again is time consuming.

- Batters absolutely take the piss with drinks between overs and glove changes, which the bowling side gets punished for.

All this talk about ‘back in the day we used to bowl 90 overs easily’. Yeah, because we didn’t have anything that I just mentioned to worry about.

If every international side is consistently getting pinged for slow over rates, then maybe it’s time to accept that the modern game is slower than ever and 90 overs in a day is a pipe dream.

Should we do reverse batting order like they used to do in the 30s when there was a sticky wicket?
If we leave it as it is aren't we protecting the bats most likely to score?

Not like we reward batters with Shield form anyway. We are a boys club and no big name who is under performing will be getting dropped.

Name change for a month? Winners choice. Aus make 130+ first innings.
Nah i would rather make money on Sportsbet for it. Childish games are not my thing.

This has been an annoyance of mine for several years. Even though they know they are going to have to replace the helmet, they wait until the physio runs out to talk with the batsman before they call for the helmet.
