Bowling tracks, every batsmen has been crap bar Head and Rahul.

Yep, it's why if we are smart we'd want the flattest deck lets be real it's the only way Bumrah doesn't skittle us, he probably still does.

Never know captain might actually win a toss

McSteamingPileOfShit has to be dropped.
We can't afford to have a useless turd who is a walking wicket, even a traffic cone would put up more resistance.
We’ll trade you Crawley

He’s not going to be dropped based off Cummins comments. I’m okay with him playing in Melbourne anyway

Khawaja has been worse

In - Konstas, Inglis, Handscomb, Webster
Out - Ussie, Marnie, Sweens, Bye-son

Handscomb on a bouncy Australian pitch against Bumrah? Has he got runs outside the Junction Oval this year? Yeah no thanks, and we aren't playing Inglis.

Just won two tests ago, we were near 300 ahead in the 3rd test...yeah lets change half the side, we will likely be making the one forced change that's it. After Melbourne MAYBE not before will changes be considered.

Agree with this Like, although I would consider Handscomb for SL.

People calling for wholesale changes are mad, my money is on one forced change (Boland) and maybe one unforced, though unlikely.

Agree with SL, him and Inglis go there in a bit of a horses for courses. Inglis doubles as the keeper backup. They may just take Inglis and an extra bowler though depends how many they take, I'm going off 16 man squad but might be 15.

Yeah I'd be shocked if it's more than Boland in for Haze. They literally would have announced players coming in by now if they were considering it. Webster might be brought in just as precaution for Marsh but I'd be shocked if it's more than that. The players will get one last chance, but fail again and especially if we lose, they may go the jugular with a Konstas pick

Think it will take another loss to make changes to the batting lineup. The selectors are probably blinded by the series being at 1-1.

For me the biggest thing is marsh's availability as a bowler. If boxing day test is a warm weather affair, they will need 5 bowling options , otherwise india will bat us into the ground.

yeah inglis will go to sri lanka - he went last time.

in any case we've added an ODI to the itenary so he'll be there, and then its straight to pakistan for the champions trophy.

Yup, Webster for Marsh my thought too, although fairly unlikely.

If Ussies lean run continues I’d expect him to be told to finish up after Sydney, with potentially Konstas going to SL

I have to say this, if that's the plan- Konstas has to play Sydney, I don't like giving a debut overseas when you can make the call in Sydney.

Yeah honestly be shocked if it's any chages other than Boland in which is a straight swap, bring a player in for cover maybe Abbott or whatever as the reserve quick, Doggett another option.

Surely common sense with the fixture they could have started the T20 series on Boxing Day and played a 3 day game for players that are on the borderline of test selection this week end.Players that are close to test selection are just playing T20 cricket or in Inglis case not at all.

how can our top 3 perform collectively so poorly and we still have Inglis sitting on the sidelines playing no cricket and not being given a chance.
To quote Country Joe McDonald, we've got ourselves in a terrible jam. I favour dropping Ussie and continuing to give McSweeney a chance, but then we have to rejig our whole batting order with nobody really putting their hand up to open which makes fitting Inglis in difficult or do we pick a specialist opener but are potentially then left with a super inexperienced opening combination. Either way it's a real mess. If Marsh can't bowl the case for his inclusion becomes weaker, maybe Inglis in there which still doesn't solve the first problem you raise.

I have no issue with trying Inglis as an opener. How can he be any worse.
Or Labs opens with Mcsweeney and Inglis bats 5 with Smith and Head at 3 and 4.

Can't just keep ignoring these poor starts, its to much pressure for the team or any team.

I honestly don't hate it but it don't change how precarious we've allowed our top three to become.

Poor form will continue when there is no chance you will lose your spot. Thats the current message. I agree we should persevere with Mcsweeney, give him a few more tests but Ussie and Labs have no excuses, they should be dropped and others given the chance.

I'd replace Gill with paddikal/jurel & potentially someone like a Krishna for Siraj. Imo akash deep has bowled better than siraj. Uzzie looks like a walking wicket along with Rohit both should be dropped but won't.

Interesting what they do with Marsh, Head is already carrying an injury. Do they take 2 injury impacted players into a pivotal test? Imo need to go with Head & replace Marsh with Webster or Inglis.

I'm surprised by the calls to drop McSweeney, arguably batted in the toughest conditions & did well imo. He might not be a big 100 opener but showed enough to see off the new ball. It's his first series against possibly the greatest fast bowler of all time. Uzzie is the bigger issue.

I think Australia are on top despite the scoreline..Bowled out India cheaply in 4 of the 5 completed innings. The 2nd innings in Perth our bowlers were uncharacteristically flat
Australia has issues no doubt but we have 3-4 bowlers who look threatening..India are relying heavily on Bumrah.

The mid series retirement of Ashwin could be a sign there is some angst in the India changerooms also
