It sucks because the last 3 days have been dry, but forecast looks awful for the next 5. Still pissing down here, I'm not expecting play to resume today.

With rain forecast for the next few days, it's looking likely that this will be a draw.

Sets up a huge Boxing Day test which will likely be the decider given that the Sydney test is a fair chance of ending in a draw too. More than half of the SCG tests in the last ten years have ended in one.

532 wickets from 131 matches at an average of over 30. Brett Lee and Lyon are the only two test bowlers with over 300 wickets that have an average over 30. Hes barely bowling anyway. Head, Lab and Smith can make up Lyons 12 overs.
If that is meant as a negative, it's not. I've previously pointed out that an average of around 30 is not unusual for quality Test off spinners.
As for your following statement, I assume you are referring to Australian Test bowlers?

Nah the only thing that needs to change about the Gabba Test is moving it back to the first Test of the summer.

It's been one of the most reliable venues for an actual contest between bat and ball for a long time now. Have to go back over a decade for the last drawn Gabba Test.

Don't know why India stuck with Anil Kumble for so long. He only averaged marginally better than Lyon at a marginally worse strike rate while playing most of his Tests in India. Clearly not good enough for a Test spinner.

So how would you reschedule the tests then ?

Exactly. Ive taken kids to swimming lessons and sucked up all morning so i could sit on my arse watching cricket all afternoon. What a waste

There is still a good test match to watch going on in sunny Hamilton between NZ and England if you have Fox/Kayo.
